'Angry Mom' - I think you guys will laugh

A friend of mine has a 5yo son. They live in a small town of ~1000 people, so everyone knows everyone... Anyhow, he made a request on the radio recently to dedicate a song to his mom:

"Hi this is Jack and I want you to play whatever song it was for my mom"

"That's so nice of you, Jack!! Want to tell us more about your mom?"

"Uh, my mom is really angry sometimes and I told her she better stop it or I'll go down the road and live with my auntie, because she's always nice."

The DJ cut him off at that point and just played the song

I can't believe he cut the kid off - I would have let him go on! Talk about comedy - out of the mouths of babes!

I think of my yard as "The Garden of the Good Intentions." Another gardener friend says it more bluntly - "my intentions are good but my execution stinks." Photos are terrible at showing the hoses, scattered pots, weeds, whatever. The heart sees the beauty that is there, or is dreamed of. Your garden looks good to me! Who cares about the trash bag, or tarp??? Out here, where it doesn't rain from May - Oct, every bit of lushness is a treat. People would kill for those hostas. My "Rooguci" clematis is a spindly little thing, and yours is so lovely - I've finally figured out that clematis wants way more moisture than I'm ever going to give them! Anita

Grandparents angry at Mom, suggestions?

I dont think that it is a physical thing. My grandfather is thoroughly supporting her statements. They are bringing up things from 7 years ago, etc. I think it is insecurity about the situation with her sister, and becoming more homebound themselves. But the big problem is that they refuse to be part of the solution. When Mom asks them what more she can do, they respond with statements like "I just dont know, you just feel obligated, etc". Its like they made up their minds to always be mad. And grandma grossly misinterpreted things from the past, like she is looking for the most remote examples that my mother doesnt "love" her or something....totally unwaranted. They have had several more discussions with no resolution, and things are increasingly ackward. I just hope we can get to the bottom of it soon.

Congrats, you did a great job! As for the last question I would stay with all pulls. If the kitchen was for you I would say really mix it up and put all different shapes (a la igloochic) to add interest. Since cheap and cheerful is the order of the day doing all pulls will look better on the simple lines of the cabinets. In a space with so few doors/drawers I think mixing knobs and pulls would look odd.

I'm not sure what song it was... But I think he was trying to do something nice for her and chose a song she really likes (he's a pretty sweet kid, he just doesn't listen very well and she gets frustrated and gives him heck)

The followup conversation to this was funny too:
Mom: "Why did you tell the whole town I'm angry?"
Jack: "'Cause you yell at me lots for not listening"
Mom: "Well start listening and I'll stop yelling"
Jack: "Oh, I didn't think of that"
