Thanks to all of you.

I really appreciate having a "go to" place

during times of great frustration.

I appreciate the online friendships I have made here,

and Dana, I especially appreciate you. If you want to contact me, my address is LDirr@aol.com. I would love to hear from you, any time.

KK and TOS, I appreciate your insights, and you have given me a greater appreciation for my husband's ex. She meddles at times, but I've never known her to be bitter or hateful. She genuinely loves and cares about her kids, and

has always tried to do her best for them, even if we have conflicted a few times.

To all the stepdaughters, I hope your issues with your parent and step-parent improve. You have helped me to understand your points of view, and you have given me hope for the future.

To all the other step-mothers and combination step-mother / bio-moms out there, good luck, and don't give up hope.

I have learned that my problems aren't nearly as frustrating as they could be, and even though our family has problems, even biological families have problems.

I think we are growing, and hopefully things will stay that way.

I have disengaged in real life, and now I'm taking a

disengagement / sabbatical from this site.

Hi There,

I have really appreciated your comments. Please don't go!! There is a fair amount of bullying on this web site, primarily from "theotherside" and "kkny."

But there also is a great deal of support and wisdom from accomplished women. Like you, I am a professional with two Ivy league degrees.

Don't let the negative karma of a few people drive you away!

I wont speak for myself, but I see TOS as someone who genuinely cares about her kids.

I didn't respond to this yesterday, not wanting to let it slide down the page without others getting a chance to see it. You are most welcome. At times it can be a little tough - you get the people who come on, ask a few questions that you take time & thought to answer, who then disappear forever - or until the next problem comes up. It's okay, that's the nature of a public forum, but sometimes you do get tired of answering the same question that had been discussed throughly last week, or so many times that we nagged Susie to put it up in the FAQs. On the other hand, it's wonderful to have someone who takes a lively interest in the forum and other's plants and questions as you have. That's how we make new friends, and turn a newbie into someone who has a knowledge beyond their own garden. I'm very glad to have been a part of that and happy you've gotten something good out of what has been offered.

You can ask on the tree forum about its benefits and drawbacks as a yard plant in your area on the tree forum here. Peppa, the dress is by Eliza J. I got mine from Lord & Taylor. It runs pretty true to size and I think it was $180.

Disengaging is a wonderful thing isn't it ... :-)

You get to pick and choose how much or how little you are involved.

If you're still here - I'll email you shortly. Have considered a leave of absence myself. Just busy - wishing to help others as they have helped me, but losing lots of sleep as my 'down time' w/ three little ones seems to be around midnight! I don't think it's fair if I post for help, then can't always be there to help in return...

Yep, good for you, southern.

As much as I might need the advice that comes from this board right now, I also think that it is best that I find somewhere else to seek advice. I do have actual friends out here cyberland and certainly there are less frustrating boards out there. I have enough of that in real life.
