Sorry I can't help on the decorating, but would like to say your wall color is beautiful and your furniture looks really nice. What is the wall color, if you don't mind me asking?

Love the new furniture - everything looks super comfy! Except I'm not crazy about the color of the recliner; it looks orange-y on my monitor. I think it doesn't really go with the red of the chair and ottoman. Do YOU think the colors go together in real life? (As I've stated in another thread, I'm somewhat design/color/decor/fashion challenged!)

Are the red chair and sofa on a sun porch? And are they pointed at the TV corner cabinet? If you put the sofa on the longer wall, in front of the windows, is there another place for the TV cabinet? I love the pillow and red upholstery combination!

As for accessories, I see you have a couple of blue and white pieces in the den. What about blue/white lamps? Add a blue pillow to the sofa or on the red chair?

Definitely need artwork, window treatments and plants, but I'll love that for someone else to make more specific suggestions.

In the living room, how about pulling your couch out from the wall to about where that little chair is. You can use the outlet that is there for your lamps, just put the extension cords under the sofa and tables. This will help bring your seating area together. Right now they look like islands in a sea of a very pretty room :)

Since you will have all this room behind the sofa, consider a tall case piece to display books, plates, or whatever you like to look at.

I know it's not nice to say this, but I hate those type of recliners. They make them look nice and streamlined now, instead of big and poofy. Would your DH consider a different style of recliner? Something with regular arms and a tighter back would compliment your sofa.

Is the chair and a half new, too? Depending on how you feel about that piece, you could return it and get two smaller scale chairs with a little table in between for a second seating area.

Your room shape is a lot like mine only I have an entrance at one end that takes up some room. I put my couch across from the fireplace then two chairs opposite, each flanking the fireplace. DH gets a prime viewing spot and I get to lay down on the couch every night and watch TV!

I really like everything about your house: wall color, new furniture, sunroom furniture, kitchen (what I can see of it!)--EXCEPT that recliner, which does not look like it belongs with the rest of the furniture.

kimberlyrkb, the recliner does not look as orange IRL, but I still don't think the color is just right. The furniture in sunporch is pointed toward TV; there is no other place to put the TV.

alex9179, I turned the sofa to the center of the room where the recliner was and moved the chair/ottoman and recliner where the sofa was. Put one table between the two chairs. I like it better like that, but now there is an empty space where the chair/ottoman were. The chair/ottoman are not new.

I'm going tomorrow to look for a different recliner or chair; any ideas? DH really loves the way that chair sits (and it does sit good). But, it is not very attractive. He's not happy with changing it out, but will let me do it.

Still need some wall decor/window treatment ideas.

What about a recliner that is smaller in scale? We have 2 Chloe recliners by Lane and my husband and sons love them. The rest of your home and furniture are lovely!!!

One other thought for you...Do you have a Homegoods or TJ Maxx? You can usually find large prints and maybe sconces too to surround it. That would be the perfect finishing touch. Good luck!

OK - I went today and found a new recliner and will possibly be either buying another one just like it or some other accent chair for the corner by the TV. The recliner is a darker brown and a smaller chair - not poofy! I'll post pics once I get it in place next week.

Now, on to accessories. I've checked our TJ Maxx each week for several months - NOTHING!! I also checked a Homegoods a few weeks ago in another town. Really having a hard time finding just the right things.
