These arrived in the mail today. I'm sorry the photos are a little blurred, but they give you a sense, anyway. They are lithos by Edmund Osthaus and I adore them. God bless ebay. :)

On my "dog pound" wall, once I get a couple of other pieces reframed, but that won't be for a few months, since framing is so expensive. :)

Many thanks for the comps on our views and artwork. Much of the art was very reasonably priced, as this is an artist's mecca out here in New Mexico. Richpoor, with no views, you might consider framing a view of your own. By that I mean, find a poster or print of a view that would fit your area of the country and that you like, and frame it nicely to give your kitchen the view it's missing. In our DD's room, I bought one of those inexpensive window mirrors on sale at Hobby Lobby. One that looks like it has window panes. I took it apart, threw away the mirror, had glass put in it and had HL cut down a poster and insert a great "view" for her one wall. The eye really is fooled into seeing the view beyond the window. Here's a pic of DD's other view. I've since added heaftier molding to the top and bottom to even it out.: And a trompe l'oiel pic I had in her room when it was done in a beach theme. I'm not necessarily suggesting either for your kitchen, but there are great possibilities in the idea. Tromp l'oeil means "fool the eye" and this kind of art does just that, especially in a place with no good view. It makes the room feel bigger, too. Just some food for thought. Lynn

I am no color expert at all. I know you were playing with some of the greens in the Affinity collection. I have Wasabi, and as much as I was scared to death to paint in this color, I love it. It really is acting like a neutral beause so many colors go with it. Ask your BM dealer to loan you some of the large samples (5x7) that they have in a binder. Take those home and hold them up behind the painting and see what you think. Everyone here always has such great suggestions. Here is my Wasabi wall, see how it works with the grays and purples? That's a marble top on the table and it plays nicely with that as well.

The wall color is SW Ramie. The chair was my grandmothers, and it is just sort of a placeholder right now. I have been searching for new chairs. I would really like to get 2 chairs, but I am unsure how to arrange everything. I would also like to get a new rug--I've been coveting a real hand-knotted forever. The current rug is very nice, 100% wool Couristan machine woven. It is in the same line as My3dog's lovely living room rug. They have been selling this line of rugs in the last year at Tuesday morning for less than half price. It doesn't come off quite as pale in person. I want to eventually move it into my bedroom, where it will be perfect. Does anyone have recommendations for a rug? What color scheme? I really like some of the orientals that are a bit more modern without a really tight or busy pattern. Something maybe like this: This rug is from Williams Sonoma home, and is way out of my price range at over $2K. Is it possible to get a hand-knotted for around $1K? I need at least an 8x10.

Hi Airycat: I like art quilts and am trying to learn more. I belong to an art quilt group through my guild and there are some very artsy gals in the group. So far I have done a small vine-type quilt (saw a picture of it in an old magazine and copied). It turned out well (which surprised the heck out of me). I have done a lake scene (someone on this site was giving lessons...Teresa NC 7 listed under landscape quilts. I did an underwater quilt which everyone in the group liked and I was pleased with. I took a class in thread painting and have to finish that project (mountains, trees, lake, flowers, etc.) I must have ADD also since I have a problem completing anything large. Organic, I love the pictures you got on Ebay! I need pictures for my rooms but I am so picky (still have no pic above my sofa that I ened badly... ) that I think I must see them in person or have a return policy. I really love the two pics you won. Thanks for sharing.

They are beautiful-- remind me of one of my childhood dogs and the paintings on the wall of my grandfather's farmhouse.

I had also started collecting vintage photos and paintings for a dog wall but stopped when I moved since I lost my big tall walls.
