Deanna, Do you live close to MPLS? My sister lives in Albertville. I cleaned out 2 10ft high shelves in my closet yesterday. I'm counting that as exercise! Going up and down the little step-stool and making sure I didn't fall with arm loads of junk was more than what I really wanted to do. But, as Sally and her DH feels, I look at it and feel successful! It's been an emotional couple of days. My aunt (my best friend in high school) called yesterday afternoon and they took my uncle (2 yrs older than me) to the Hospice hospital and told her it would be within the week, so I've been putting away my sewing things and packing as we, along with DD and her DH and DD will be driving to MI. I just feel kind of in limbo.....we were so close to them. I'm planning on staying up north and visiting my mom and sister in MN for a couple weeks and my other 2 daughters and their families in IN until the end of June. I got the GGbaby quilt finished and SBSue with the manatee....both pics are in the gallery. I'll let you know when we leave.... Thank you for being my friends....... Sharon

Deanna, We're ok down here in FL...at least for now. @:) As I watched the kayaking during the Olympics, I thought about you and can't imagine doing that! My hat's off to you girl! Sally, Sorry about your week of blah but hope it's getting better. Don't rush getting back into anything strenuous until your cough is gone. Don't want a big set back! Yeah, you don't want to stir up the dust...I don't either! Cute wallhanging you made for your sister! I like the button jar. I'm glad Salijo has joined, too....only thing is, I have to be good now. @:) Salijo, If I had been at the reunion, they could have gotten a 5 generation picture....did you think about Aunt Elaine being my proxy? She would have loved that! I'm glad y'all were able to be there. You know everytime the phone rings tomorrow, I'll be running to answer it! Yep, after the Blueberry Festival, you can get your table cleared off and set it up for sewing. You could probably pull the seat part of gramma's cabinet over and use that for sitting on. Do you have a pattern? I have a thought in the back of my head for sewing triangles so you don't lose any fabric but is easier that cutting separately and then sewing....I'll have to think about it and maybe I'll remember what it is. I'm missing the Blueberry Festival this year! You girls won't believe what my 2 DD's did to me last year! When I came back from using the restroom, they had been to the place where lost kids are reported and had gotten a bracelet they wanted me to wear. "If found, please call Wendy at ####### or return to Booth #...." Guess I should have told them where I was going. We always had fun..gonna miss the fudge. I just sat a read Fearless Fourteen today! DD#3 was here all day today with her surgery being yesterday. Tomorrow I think I'll do some sewing. I have a Christmas tree that's supposed to look like you're looking at it through a window. I've had the blocks done for awhile, but kept changing the color of the panes. I finally just went with white to look like snow. I'd like to get it together enough to take on the retreat and at least finish the top. Guess I better sign off for now......looks like I'm starting to write a book! SharonG/FL

Thank you for your kind words! Lyban...I happened on a house/lawn sale last Oct in downtown St Pete-the last hour it was open.There were TWO sets of this twin head & footboard. The guy saw me looking at it & said "I'll give you both sets for $25". Natch, I said 'SOLD'! I used the 2 footboards on each end of the bed & attached the headboard to the wall. Her room is only 13x9'6" so it worked for me. I primed & painted all 7 pieces of furniture here in FL then rented a cargo van to haul it to NC, where my son met me & we flipped the stuff into his van then proceeded to PA. The beading was wooden-a part of the bed's design..loved it! I added aurora borealis stones to some of them as the heads of the beading was missing on several of them. The murals were quite a project. I looked & looked for a product to paint them on and got wall paper liner from HD. I penciled the scenes on here in FL (using carbon paper & 6 different coloring books to get the perspective I wanted of the characters-I did my own background & foregrounds)) but all of the painting was done up there. After I got the scenes done-I sprayed them w/ a matte glaze to seal the acrylic paints, then added iridescent super fine glitter to her bridal gown, her slipper and the fairy dust. I also added faceted silver stars to the skies w a silicone glue. THEN, after sizing the arched areas of the walls, I used wallpaper paste to attach them to the walls.
