You can do whatever you want- go wild if you choose! our front door use to be that forest green but as of yesterday it's now SW Black Bean! We really like it! Our home is red brick though. So not sure this idea goes with your color scheme but it's an idea. If your home faces the sun for a good part of the day, you may want to go with a darker color as any color (even black) will end up fading. Good Luck!

I have a golden yellow front door. I love it, but I don't have shutters to contend with.

The green actually would not clash with a purple, although your house and shutter colors look completely different from one picture to the next, so it is hard to tell. Our house is a sort of taupe color with deep purple doors and dark teal shutters (husband painted those-not wild about them, but they look pretty good). However, our house is a different style, so the shutters are not right next to the doors. A yellow could look great...or black...or burgundy...or...

Bottom line-go wild! Absolutely.

I like the thought of terra cotta or purple or burgundy!! I never thought of yellow so that's an option too! Now I am so excited!! I assume I paint the sidelights the same color as the door??

I would love a black door but the sun is already so strong in the afternoon (esp. with the screen door glass in). My wreaths/signs actually have had the glue melt and fall apart.... I think the black would attract more heat, if it's possible??

Our neighbors across the street have a similar (if not the same) color of siding. They changed their shutter and door color from green to a beautiful deep eggplant / aubergine. It's quite striking.

I like eggplant or black. JMHO
