Help! Any way to remove scratches from glass?
Comments (1)The only way to remove scratches from glass that has to stand up to heat is to polish them out using successively finer grades of polishing compounds. Simply do a web search for 'glass scratch removal' and you will find lots of info and kits. I found on one search page three kits under $35 each....See MoreAny way to bring down shine on repair patch?
Comments (4)Do not use steel!! What sheen and what type of finish did the use? If the finish the whole floor with a satin its possible the repair could have been used with a different batch of finish. It sounds weird but I've seen some finishes especially with satins that will be slightly off from one batch to the next from the manufacture. All finishes require the get mixed very well before being applied. It could be the didn't mix the finish for the repair well enough or the could have used a different sheen. Like semi-gloss. But its all just speculation until I get more answers To fix you could try getting the right sheen and re apply the finish. Best case scenario but also a hassle would be to recoat the entire area, referred to as a buff n coat. That way everything will have a consistent sheen....See MoreReplacing window pane in Anderson tilt double hung window
Comments (5)In most cases, a sash replacement is the way to go. If it is less than 20 years old, it is a warranty item and you can get that replaced through Andersen. If not sure, you will need the unique number off that glass when you contact Andersen. If you can tilt the window in for cleaning, you can replace it. Ask for those instructions from Andersen. Here is the number: 1-800-933-3626 . You can also order Andersen parts from: windowparts.com....See Morestainless steel scratch repair
Comments (11)Going forward, use a regular sponge and Barkeepers Friend to clean your sink. There is a Pro who posts frequently on this forum Joseph Corlett who has mentioned how to buff out scratches. Try doing a search for his comments on how to do it. The thing is, all stainless steel will scratch. You could buff out scratches now, and get a scratch tomorrow. It is the nature of stainless steel. May as well embrace the patina as Sushipup said....See Morekeys
