Used motor oil for 2 cycle oil.
Comments (18)Normal engine oil will seperate from the fuel if allowed to sit. You never need to shake fuel if you put two cycle oil in it because it will not seperate. Just that fact makes me want to steer away from this motor-oil-in-two-stroke practice. Secondly, 2-cycle oil is designed to work at a higher temperature without burning off and without producing as many carbon deposits. Regular oil could eventually cause your rings to stick in the lands and cause cylinder scoring. I personally tried this regular oil as 2-stroke technique on an old leaf blower... I don't remember what brand. On the second tank of fuel, the engine seized up. I would recommend against the practice....See MoreWhat color is your motor oil?
Comments (9)The green color is a break in oil additive.I have never did the first break in oil change on a GM vehical. But I have seen this on small engine like Kohler.First I thought Oh no antifreeze in the oil.Until I realised the Kohler was air cooled.GM uses the pink antifreeze so your also safe. Also when you change oil the first time. Its normal to see a metalic grey color and resembles graphite.Thats the filings and is normal and the green additive is to help remove them. The oil filter was tight because the factory does not put a small film of oil on the seal and also the filter base plate is dry and oil free at time of filter installation. Im not sure what oil they use at the factory. But GM Goodwrench oil I think is distributed bottled from Valvoline oil....See MoreOil in Motor...what do I do now?
Comments (1)Sorry folks. I think I am in the wrong forum. I will try appliances. That said, if you have any suggestions, please respond. I'm desperate at this point....See MoreI bought 9 oz of Poppy seeds, um, what do I do now
Comments (29)Glad you know about storing them in the freezer. I learned that here, and the hard way after having a bag go bad on me. Here's a recipe I made this weekend, in the bread machine. It's a light bread, not very sweet but good with cream cheese and jam for breakfast. Lemon Poppy Seed Bread Recipe 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast 3 cups bread flour 1 tablespoon lemon zest -- grated 1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons sugar 4 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 1 cup water 1 large egg 1 teaspoon lemon juice GLAZE: 2 teaspoons unsalted butter -- softened 1 teaspoon lemon zest -- grated 4 tablespoons powdered sugar 1 teaspoon lemon juice -- or more Add all ingredients except those for glaze. Use basic cycle. While the bread is cooling to room temperature, make the glaze. Glaze cooled loaf of bread by drizzling glaze on top and sides of loaf. Let dry before slicing. Not very specific directions I know, but I just dumped everything in the bread machine according to the manufacturers directions for adding stuff (liquids first), and it came out good. The only thing I can add is use a "light" setting for the crust, I used med. and it is a bit overdone. I didn't glaze mine, so it's good for toasting....See Moresolarpowered
