As you did not give any details of the accusations it is really is hard to give any thorough advice. However, with the assumption that you are truly innocent of any wrong doing, I can try to ease your stress.

If you truly believe the Court's may get involved regarding the "accusations", keep in mind that all family courts are aware of the internal domestic issues regarding blended families. An accusation in and of itself has absolutely no meaning in a court of law without clear evidence (witnesses or physical) or a considerable amount of circumstantial evidence to substantiate the accusation, If the alleged victim will not substantiate the claims, and you have witnesses to your benefit regarding the claims then it should be a non-issues where the court are concerned, and most courts will at best request a social worker to follow-up, and possibly counseling. If you can prove that the wife's x made up the allegations regarding of your children, and due to the serious nature of such allegations, you in fact could counter with restraining order or gag order request through the court's because of the emotional, and mental stress your wife's x caused your family unit and more importantly the child in question. I had a friend of many years who went through this and my sister also. The approach was simple and clear in each case, make yourself and your childrenÂs lives as visible and open as possible without compromising your privacy of course. Get ahold of the letter. Take it to an attorney and have him/her write a warning letter that you will sue the X for slander (and a whole lot of other things) if there are any other accusations.

I had a neighbor that was accusing another neighbor of something he did not do. The attorney letter put an immediate stop to it all.

Yep, you can sue him. Because the untruths were in written form, it would be libel, not slander. Nip this in the bud by getting an attorney to write a letter now.

Get an attorney and write a letter stating any further false accusations on your part willnot be tolerate or accepted. Nip it right away. Do not wait.
Warn him he will be sued. put a stop to it right away.
My husbands ex accused him of trying to injure her in front of the kids. I helped him write a letter basically saying she lied. the kids were not where near them and that any more lies will not be tolerated.
Can you get the letter as proof???

I am not sure I can get the letter, I'm starting to believe it was in email format, however, I don't think it makes a difference. As far as details of the accusations, there weren't any, just that statement "The kids are making accusations...". I'm afraid that an attorney would be terribly expensive, no?

If there are no details then the ex cannot pursue anything with you on a legal matter. There is no evidence of any abuse of any nature then your ok. But since the kids are making accusations i think your wife should have a very long talk with her kids to see was her ex trying to make them say anything or they said something and he took it the wrong way. Either way, the kids should be spoken to by their mother and then she can write a letter stating what she heard and that she doesn't know if what her ex said was true in the email. She can also write that there is no abuse of any kind. And further accusation , he will be held accountable for his words. At least in this sense the police have a way to track what is goign on..who said what..etc..etc.. if it gets any worse. But nip it in the butt. You dont have to havea lawyer to write the letter. You may write it yourself and send it registered to adress this problem andstate any further false allegation being spread to family or friends will be delt legally. Defend yourself and show where you stand . Its important.
My Hubbies ex is verbally assaulting him and it almost got physically. I helped him right a letter , sent it registered to his ex , her lawyer and my husbands. She shut her trap very quickly! Now of course she is calling me a liar. We've spoken to the kids and they think their mother is wrong no matter what comes out of her mouth. She is just getting desperate because CS is being cut down and she is pist off.
Sounds to me your wifes ex is jealous and is looknig for trouble. How old are the kids?
