we call it a garden! sometimes veg patch (for veggies obviously) and (lawn) for grass, but Gardens (Yards) are small in the UK so we don't have a whole lot of names, no need! I had a really big garden (yard) by uk standards, but not even appropriate to put in acreage! I lived in the countryside and flora as far as I can tell lives in town, so she will have most likely have a smaller plot than I did, and after patio, small lawn area for kids to run on and jungle climber, no garden (UK sence)left for veg (get this, we got the jungle climber for free as everyone who viewed it, said it was too big for their garden and so the person selling it put it up as free, to get rid of it) I know in cities this space problem is the same (USA), and appartments, but even country people have small gardens, land prices are so high (UK), that if you have a big garden a lot of people sell it, for house building. for example my gargage foot print and bonus room here is bigger than our house my first house in the UK, and the last we had before moving, we where the envy of a lot of friends due to it's size (approx 1500 Sq foot) so imagine the garden size (yard) hope this helps, and to think I am from a nation of gardener's, hats off to the Brit chaps and chapesses.

Well, I WAS planning to lay it on the ground, but I have a horrible termite problem. I once put a wooden windowbox on the grass. When I went to move it a few days later, it was infested with termites. Same with using newspaper as mulch; lift that stuff after a while and there's termites everywhere. Unfortunately it's all part of nature though. Thankfully the lower half of our house if brick, LOL. When DH built the shed, DH didn't skimp and had a cement truck come in. Back to the cage. I simply refused to use treated wood, due to the nature of the contents. I might put down on the ground in the future; I can always build up the bottom with a nice stack of bricks or cinderblocks. Well, I did want a few feet added, right? I actually don't like the dual doors; one would've been better, & easier IMO, I don't really know. I saw somebody elses picture that had one door, but of course, that was after the fact. The main problem I have is that it's warped. Well, it was warped from the beginning, but over time, it only gets worse. The left side I permanently close using a long screw (after adding plants & cats), otherwise there's too much of a gap and the cats could escape. I believe I used fiberglass screen, although I don't know if I can verify that or not. It was very easy to work with & flexible, and I didn't shred the skin on my hands, lol. I actually had one part that seemed to have the edge of a cut exposed, and I started freaking out when one of my cats started wandering. She was right on the jagged edge, and I thought for sure she was a goner, walking back & forth over that part. Surprisingly, everything went well & she pupated elsewhere. My cage is heavy & bulky, and I always have the wheels turning on how and when I'll build a better, bigger one. When and if that day comes, I'll be back. I do currently have one idea in mind, something to do with one of my dd's old playhouses, which has a tubular frame that just has to be snapped in place. If I could manage to make some sort of screen or mesh cover to replace that plastic cover, it just might work! Of course, I can't find a picure...

Iguanas are my biggest headache here in Venezuela. I have a large job at a beach resort which is infested with the critters and there are no preditors to keep them under control so the only hope is trapping them or catching them by hand and then releasing them far away. They eat all the foliage on bougainvilleas, and anything in the acanthus family. I have found no information on any other control form. chris

All I can relate is my personal experiences. I also have CRW cages but mine are 30-32" in diameter and I would never put more than one plant in any of my cages. I don't do any pruning except for the lower branches that might touch the ground and my cages are filled to over-flowing by 1 plant by mid season. NOw if you plan on doing extensive pruning, which kind of defeats the purpose of using CRW cages, then 'maybe' you could squeeze 2 AR Traveler in 1 cage and 2 Jet Star in 1 cage but it would still be a tight squeeze. Or better yet, plant them outside the cage with the cage in between them and use it to tie them off to for support. I have grown all the plants on your list except Sweet Baby Girl - know nothing about it. But all the others, single plant, assuming proper soil prep/amending and proper feeding through out the season will easily fill your 24" cages. Do you have access to any big containers that you could use for the extra plants? Or even though you have the cages consider using Florida weave in one of the beds instead of cages. That would allow you to work 2-3 extra plants into the same space. JMO Dave
