DD2 wanted a flower shape and she settled on a tulip design I drew up

cut it out and use as a pattern to cut two of the same shape, lay in wire loops or jump rings and "glue" the 2nd piece over top

not pictured I have also cut out a 3rd layer of the 2 smaller petals and stamped them before "gluing" them in place

Nathan Thank you for comment on 'then & now' thread. I know that many are able to grow succulents much better & faster. That's why I read every post, and post some of mine-to compare & learn. I kept them in cold room for 'practical' reason - have a new place, but didn't move in yet, just 90% of my plants. So in order not to have to pay astronomical $$$ to heat 2 houses, I had to keep temps down. I did have the supplemental lighting set up for few hrs/day. I am sure it could have been more, but again-had to watch $$$ too. Temps were set @49F, and plants did very well. Besides succulents, I have there f. Benjamina, 4 pots of figs (kept those in bsmt. in order to keep dormant - now they are leafing out), boston ferns, 6 olives, 7 angels trumpets (Brugmansia) and few other. I do have some casualties: 3 of my euphorbias are gone, and Meyer lemon. I think (not sure) that they were just too cold, or maybe should been watered even less in col temps. I know that soil is good, very well draining. But I noticed that many plants actually look great, some better than when I had them in warmer house - definitely less water (I tend to water too much) was great for them. I watered approx. every second 'visit' & that would be approx. 3weeks. Few grew very leggy, but that's to be expected if not enough sun. So those will get their 'heads chopped off' as soon as it get warm. Yay, more plants. BTW, I have at least 20 pots of jades, all of them grown from cuttings or fallen leaves. Few of them are very unruly and there is going to be lots more cuttings. Even if there were occasional shrivelled leaves (just few), I am sure it was still better than rotted roots. It's been a long night or rather 'morning' and I've been thinking--a lot! And, I realize that many of us (me included) have been linking to the 'Library' by specific page, as in we look up the hosta we want to talk about or display and link it, with the link taking us to a specific alphabetical listing, the 'usual way' which is below our message! I'm thinking that even that may be prohibited and that Bob really wants us to ONLY link to the home-page as in this way: The Hosta Library rather than the way we've been doing it below! Whaaaa! It was SO MUCH FUN to be able to read along in our messages and then be able to 'click' and see the specific hosta being discussed so quickly BUT, if that is not what is desired by Bob, so be it and well it should be respected to be his wishes!! Sniff! If you read this, Bob, is there ANY way, we can have a special 'dispensation',, to be able to quickly get to one of your hostas more directly? I have recently found a few other really cool apps that do the same type thing, some also do video capture and voice. check these out. [www.jingproject.com] and more info about Jing Screencasting Gets Easier With New Screen Capture And Dektop Recording Tool: Jing Project (for Jing if you are are wanting the system tray option for launching instead of the yellow button - you have it. Just turn off the show launcher option in preferences and click the jing icon in the system tray for the capture, history, more and exit options.) a bit more about Jing Jing - a new the main thing to consider about Jing is that it is a beta project, and that it is tied to a screencast.com account which they do provide to you for free for a time, you can purchase more space on screencast should you need it. And it does require .Net which most windows pcs have. Next is utipu utipu which is pretty cool. You install a little video capture camera that is very easy to use. Watch the tutorial videos on the site to learn more. You can record voice to this one also, plus it is very easy to share. For the Mac users this one is awesome and I really wish they had a windows and linux version. Skitch Jing also has a Mac version.

using tesserae, measure aand cut a strip of clay wider than than the tess is thick. glue along the top edges to form your well

at this point you want to bake as directed on the clay label. after it cools and hardens, sand it upside down on a flat surface to even out the well wall. smooth off and bumps and burrs from the sides and back

Oh Candy! This is truly another addiction I am sure!!! And to think you can glue it together like that! LOVE IT!! Thanks for showing us! I still haven't used all the stuff in my last Tesserae exchange, I'll have to go look, I think I got some of this stuff! I already have a pasta machine(never used it yet, I'd be big as a house!LOL!)may have to donate to the experiment! OH heck...I'm skedaddling back to my throne now..Slow....

oops I never clarified here that "glueing" in terms of polymer clay is using liquid clay to glue with. in the case its liquid sculpy but i think all the brands have a version of this, its also used for transferring pictures to clay.
