Is there a phone number for Garden Web?

I've sent a couple urgent messages to GW asking for help with a technical problem, but nothing has happened. I've searched the internet for phone numbers or other email addresses for GardenWeb and iVillage with no luck. Does anyone have a phone number?

I would wager to say there isn't one for public use. I work in IT managing the website and all it's myriad functions for the Department of Agriculture in CA. Our site gets thousands of hits and useage every day, much like GW. To maintain and handle all of that there is just one person- little, ol' me in a tiny office. There is no way I could handle calls from every Joe with a "tech problem". That is why there is e-mail. I handle as many as I can but usually the bulk go unanswered and the problems resolve themselves. As long as my diagnostic tests show the servers and platforms are working fine, the rest is the users' problem.

I have no phone number but:

Garden Web is owned by iVillage;

iVillage is owned by NBC;

NBC is owned by General Electric.

Perhaps that will help you.

There is the form on the contact us link at the bottom of the page (on right) and I think there is a different link from the main menu of forums (other forums, on top left) to report problems.

The plant swap & event planning have me in an "organizing flurry. I have secured' tables, thought out a sign/mapping/parking plan, dreamed about what I was going to cook and inventoried plant swap give-a-ways in my yard. Can't log in to GardenWeb from my cell phone

have you tried with a different browser on your cell phone? I have several browsers I use on my phone, firefox, opera mini, and dolphin HD, all are very good but some work better for some things than others. For GW I often use firefox since I can add on adblock plus and easylist which helps block a lot of the ads that make it almost impossible when on a cell phone sized screen. So you may want to try that they are all free and will install in seconds, it you decide you don't want them just go to manage applications and uninstall it. Your phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread so all of those browsers should be easily available to you from the market. you might also go into your browser settings on the phone and clear all the cache and cookies and stuff see if that might help. To do that on the phone open your browser window then click on your menu button then on the more option , then settings scroll through there to find the cache, cookie, history form data etc try clearing all that it might have saved a corrupt cookie or something.

You could always use the "forgot my password" link and they'll send you info on how to change it. This would come in handy only if you have your e-mail linked to your IPhone (I have 2 e-mail accounts linked to mine). Also - the IPhone has a notepad and you can store multiple pages of notes. I use mine for grocery lists, reminders, etc. You could store some of the less important passwords there. I wouldn't store bank info or anything like that on there, though.

Meg, do a search for gwTamara (search on all forums). Try sending a direct email from her page. There is a link, I just looked. I had an email address, but AOL deleted everything so I can't find it now.

I found that thread and I've already emailed her. I hope she can do something for me.

Still no news on the other front. The whole thing reminds me of one of those comedy farces ala Doris Day and Rock Hudson, but without the romance. Or maybe it's "The Twilight Zone." There has to be a logical solution to this whole puzzling thing, but I can't think of one.

Seriously, now that I think about it, do you ever watch "Flipping Out"? Jeff Lewis had a client who told him to hire a certain plumber and then later completely wigged out over it, saying she hadn't agreed to his price, etc. It was all on camera but maybe it was really "good" editing. If this hadn't happened over a series of months, I would have started looking for the candid cameras, or Ashton Kutcher. (Sheesh. How many TV or movie references can I pack in two paragraphs?)

I know a monitor must be deleting the spam. Why aren't they paying attention to your request? Sorry I don't understand the concept of the behind the scenes.
