Should I let DD resolve this or not??

Hi everyone..I'm new to this forum but not the entire garden web site :)

I have a nasty dilemma with my 10 y/o daughter & visitation w/her bio-father. She is a very mature, quiet girl(most of the time)& her dad takes advantage of it.

He lives 3.5 hours away, never calls to tell her he isn't coming EOW & claims he has no home phone(mssg. phone @ his mothers).

This no call-no show thing hurts her alot. He remembered he wanted his "half" of the summer, and that he didn't want her vacation camp(which she loved enormously & it was free) to interfere with his visitation.

So..I scheduled around the camp & let him take her on her birthday this year. Since picking her up he has had her call only one time, I had to call repeatedly & nag his mother to get my DD on the phone for a chat on her birthday.

Then, I find out he lost his home & is living w/an ex-wife & her husband. That totals 4 adults & 8 children(BF has a g/f & 3 children with her)in one home. Still, no phone or address to know where & how my DD is.

When I have talked to her, she claimed to be bored & I'm hoping she will not want to go next year on her own(keeping me from being the "bad mom". This whole situation is just ugly...

I would like to go to court & see about changing the visitation but I know I risk her father alienating her from me by saying how "Mom did this!" to her.

What do you think? I'm stumped on explaining this to her without making it sound like I'm badmouthing her father..I don't want to stoop to his level :(

Thanks,

Azarae D.
