Advice Needed on Replacement Windows

I am a newbie in this Forum.

We have an older home with ancient casement style, true divided light windows. The prior owner replaced the second story windows with standard sized Anderson windows, which look out of place for a Tudor-style home.

We have to immediately replace a downstairs window, and eventually replace all of them. Our basic issue is this: custom windows to fit the space or standard windows? Of course, custom windows are much more costly but cost less to install and will leave a larger window/more light upon installation. The downstairs exterior is brick.

Our contractor priced a Marvin custom window versus an Anderson standard window, with pop-in dividers. As I recall, the all-in cost of the Marvin was about $400 more.

My three questions are: which approach is better, do different manufacturers have different sized "standard" windows, and finally, who makes more affordable custom windows than Marvin?

Thanks in advance for your advice and assistance, Sparticus
