Underwater scene GOG is done!

Hi everyone! I just finished my Underwater scene and I really like it. You'll see one of the picture is black but click on it because it will show you some "glow in the dark" tiles I used on it. It really cool!

Charmo!!!!....That is SOOOoooooooo cute! I love it right where it is...with the sunlight behind it. It looks like an adorable little fish tank but then with a little closer look I notice the little underwater fantasy world! Very NICE work! If I were visiting you I'd find myself spending a lot of time in the bathroom! lol!

So glad to see photos! I started thinking about this after reading about "story" or "landscape" containers in an ancient old Agatha Christie (of course, the container pebbles turned out to be diamonds!). I like your dinosaur scene too - because it's so successful viewed from above. I've been thinking of "landscaping" a double container I planted this year - a tall skinny central container embedded in a wider, shallow container. Still thinking of "vertical" ideas that will work at eye-level (it's on the gate-pillar by our front door). Love the old aquarium idea, but need shade-tolerant plants.., ideas most welcome. I have a couple of toy yellow metal diggers and trucks that I want to incorporate into containers (no fairy dolls round here, sadly, it's all-boy territory!). I think they would go nicely in a rectangular herb trough, since I find that many herbs enjoy the heat stored by largish rocks in their containers.

I"M DROOLING!!! I"M CRYING!! I"M PEEING MYSELF!!! She is using all that blingy fusing glass, it's sooo vibrant! Klinger and I were just talking about fireplace screens and WOW!!! That one takes my breath away, especially the frame! I'm too over-amped, I need to clean up the puddle under my chair...this is too much!lol! You guys are doin' me in! Everything I've seen for weeks now is drop dead inspiring!!!!

Well, I really love your newest tropical work. It's beautiful. I especially love the way you do egret feathers with those elongated pieces. I also went to see your other photos and enjoyed the tour of another real artist's work! Wowwee! I especially love the sink with the purple flowers and the fish, and the sunburst, and and and....! What fun to see these. Great work!

This is my 1st GOG piece and I'm making it for my daughter's bathroom. It will be a rather large piece and will have strong sunlight behind it. I live in a small town and stain glass supplies are not readily available. I'm wondering if there is a glue product and grout that I can find at WalMart and/or our local hardware store. Thanks for any advice and recommendations. Linda

Girlie: that is one cool piece of art. Your fish are so detailed, and I love the sea life. FABULOUS piece of art. You SHOULD be proud of this - it's WONDERFUL.

Cathy, did you read the comments under the pics? I mention in there that some of the rocks were a present from you, so there is a part of Alaska in there thanks to you!

Thank you so much Calamity and Texasfern! I'm slowly getting there. It seems that the first time I do something I screw it up somehow, then I slowly get better. Like just now I tried to mosaic an already made pation stone, so I used contact paper for my tiles then when that was ready, I put thinset on my patio stone, oh boy did that ever turn out scary and ugly!!! I guess I put too much thinset (too thick), and shoud have had an extra pair of hands to help me put my contact paper on...oh well, live and learn I guess!!!

I love that scene, it's well done and looks gorgeous.don't give up on the patio stone, just try again, you did so well on this project I'm sure you can do a stone.

Thanks Cindy, and I got advice from Slow and Fiddlekate on using the thinset for pation stones. I'm ready to start now if it could only stop raining here in Ontario. So far they say it's the worst July on record, it's not that warm and they are always calling for rain, everyday...we haven't had more than about 2 days of sun in a row for the whole month...Please summer come back!!!
