MIND BLOWING! wow her techniques are so varied and beautiful. I've never seen anyone layer the glass like. and combine enamals with mosaics... FABULOUS

I can't believe I haven't commented...musta been one of those times that the forum was acting funny and not letting me post....ever get that? Anyhoo, LOVE this! I just love GOG and this one is super!!! Looks so good all grouted. I am such a fan of the grouting GOG! I am helping a freind make his first GOG, it is gonna be a enneagram. Mermaid, I have it sitting in a window sill, probaly won't attach it with hardware as we're prepping the hse to sell. geez you all humble me with the compliments, I love ya all! LOL I am rather amazed at this piece, this contest really stretched me. I gave thought to concepts and pushed myself to go beyond my impulses... for me, the amazing part is that all resulted in something I really like! (so surprizing) lol I still can't believe that red grout , as crazy as it sounded was so - the magical answer! I'm stunned at that one! lol LOL Slow, this is Veronica and when I made her (and her co workers) CrackedinColorado asked if there was going to be a series... So I filled the molds with my left over grout,, I'm waiting to hear a narration while I play with them! LOL

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I appreciate all the great comments! It's also good to hear from the true experts that I didn't break every rule in the "glass mosaic rule book". Reading this forum and looking at all the pics just reaffirms to me that there are so many things I don't know about the whole glass thing. squirrellycanadian: The back of mine looks hideous too but I don't plan to look at the back so I'm ok with it...lol....I don't cry over what I can't see...lol linlee/ calamity: I freehanded this and honestly didn't try to make it look like it was blowing in the wind but now that you mentioned it I can see it now....lol I had been toying with the raised leaf vine idea for awhile and decided to try it on the door. I couldn't beleive how simple it was.... The putty I used is called Wood Plastic (actual name on the can) and you can find it at Home Depot in the wood fillers. It's $5.?? something a can which is a little more expensive than a plain wood filler BUT I chose this one because it is waterproof and can be used outdoors. I used approx. 3/4 of the can for the entire vine. It's like a putty and I just formed and shaped the vine with my fingers all over the door and then went in and made the leaves. I just put a glob of wood plastic on the vine and then took real leaves from my yard and gently pressed each one in to the wood putty to get the impression. Then I used the end of my knife and cut away the excess putty and some slits in the ends of the leaves for detail. It was set up hard enough to sand and paint by the next day. The paint is what really makes the vine pop. The paint is a green exterior paint from Home Depot. Once that was dry I sponged on/ragged off an acrylic metalic bronze (craft paint from Walmart I already had). I had never tried the process before but found it to be SO easy. thank you ms slowmedown. my problem is i cut this for a stained glass window, then when i decided to mosaic i was too lazy to either grind the pieces down or get a bigger frame so some of the pieces are right tight next to each other. the other problem is, the clear pieces are very textured and i didnt glue them to fill the gaps so the grout would probably bleed under. since this wasnt supposed to be a mosaic i didnt think it out too clearly when i started. once i take the pattern and back off the frame its really cool. i think i am gonna take some glass beads that match the confetti glass and fill in around the face. the picture is my take on a picture by the artist laurel burch.

Her work is STUNNING...oh wait, someone already said that...AMAZING...oh, nope, INCREDIBLE? Ok, I can have that one. I am truly inspired! Again, another "thinking outside the 2-dimensional box" that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

dern, I was just about to start a GOG project and saw this now, hard to come close!

I am just stunned by her fireplace screen -wow. I need to harass my woodworker friend I think :D

Just when you start to believe in your own work you see something as good as this!!! It has inspired me though. I love the panels with the yellow roses and USA colors.
I spent hours studying the pics hehe

I"M DROOLING!!! I"M CRYING!! I"M PEEING MYSELF!!! She is using all that blingy fusing glass, it's sooo vibrant! Klinger and I were just talking about fireplace screens and WOW!!! That one takes my breath away, especially the frame! I'm too over-amped, I need to clean up the puddle under my chair...this is too much!lol! You guys are doin' me in! Everything I've seen for weeks now is drop dead inspiring!!!!
