How do I get streak free windows?
Comments (14)psfw, I am putting home in the market early next spring. So Window cleaning in one major fixes in my to do list. This has worked very good for my wife and myself--my wife is allergic to every other commercial cleaning products so she uses vinegar and water solution spray and wipes the glasses and mirrors with "News Papers" or other papers--believe me it does wonderful job. I spray Windex and wipe with papers/news paper --and it does work fine and gives extremely clean and fresh looking windows. Hope this helps. Comments (8)You are going to have to change out the window and/or application. Most new construction windows are designed to be set via flange and have the finished glazing surface in line with the exterior wall. You can trim out around the window with some flat casing and bury the window a bit like that but then you will have a weird'ish look to the front of the home with the trim. If you are building a new home, you could kill two birds with one stone and clad the exterior will rigid foam. This would give you the additional wall depth and push the window back inside a bit as well as improve the overall wall R-value considerably....See MoreStainless steel counters - how do they look after use?
Comments (9)I have them -- they are 9 now so most everything that might have happened to them has. The only thing with SS is that you must accept scratching. Over time, there's a patina from that. I've also had marble, granite and wood counters so I have a strong basis of comparison. These are, by far, the easiest to maintain and the most carefree -- nothing a microfiber cloth can't solve. They absorb nothing so anything that spills on them is irrelevant. As a regular practice I don't put super hot pots down directly on the counters but I didn't do it on marble or granite either. I have done it with no problem on occasion. Around a range I really wouldn't want anything else. I did love my marble counters in the previous kitchen so if you have some stone seems like the best of both worlds....See MoreHow do I get the mirrored panel/armoire look on refrigerator?
Comments (17)why do you people care if it's hard to clean or costs a lot? The OP didn't ask any of those questions. why not just answer her and forgo the snide remarks? Maybe she does have a maid and can do a 200K kitchen. (They do glass and mirror panels all the time on upper cabinets near a stove, what's the big deal w/having it done on a fridge??) Marva,,, Yes. a Custom cabinetry carpenter could design panels that fit your fridge, which would have to have the ability to accept panels. the panels wouldn't cost 30K to make! However if you wanted a custom cabinet that it is built into, expect to pay a nice amount to have that done. The mirrors would be fit into the panels much like they would on a cabinet door. Obviously to pull off this look, it can't be just a regular generic builder kitchen. The kitchen itself would have to be able to support this look. doesn't have to cost 200K either....See MoreWindows on Washington Ltd
