Vessel sink as a bar sink?

We are working on our basement. One of the things we are planning on doing is adding a sink to the main room. there is a bathroom right next to the wall, so the plumbing will not be a big deal.

I can take another picture later if that helps. This is from before we bought the house....

DH says he can cut a hole in the boards (3 make up that "counter") and then just brace the boards from underneath or something.

I think it would be simpler to install a vessel type sink, but I don't want it to look strange should we sell later.

If you think one would work, what kind would look least like a bathroom? I have googled and not had much luck. There were a few images for stone vessel sinks shown as bar sinks. I have a feeling they would be very expensive.

It would be nice if you could wash glasses or plates in the sink since this will be used a little kitchenette area with a fridge and microwave.
