Trying to Identify this Art -Can You Help?

I noticed this piece of art in a book about women artists called "Where Women Create". I just love it and can't get it out of my mind. But the book does not identify the piece. Does anybody recognize it? It may be a one-of-a-kind for all I know...

My guess would be it belongs to the artist that this room belongs to. Did they mention who's creative area this is? Does the mag have a website? I can see why you love it. It's gorgeous! Makes me think of the Northeastern USofA during a lazy day. Makes you want to jump right in!

Les - One of the things I like about the baker's rack in its current position is that I feel it balances the door to the bathroom. Before the piano came into our lives, my plan was to buy a linen press or other large piece for that spot. The chairs are probably in the only location that works. The door to the bedroom is directly opposite the wooden dresser. If the chairs are any closer to the fireplace, they're in the traffic pattern to the bathroom and closet, which is off the bathroom. There was supposed to be a bit more space there, but due to a miscommunication on my part, the contractor and I weren't on the same page. (The master suite s a recent addition to my 1950s ranch.) I love the bedding too. Thank you! It's made according to the whim of whoever makes the bed! Sometimes it lower. Sometimes it's not. As long as the bed gets made daily, I'm happy! That picture was snapped on day one. The curtains are pulled out to expose more of the windows now! The picture of DH's grandmother's brownstone isn't large enough to go over the fireplace. I had originally thought that the painting over the fireplace would go over the bed, but we had the area over the fireplace wired for TV, and I had to cover that up! Maybe I'll have to cave an buy a TV for over the fireplace and move the other painting. At least TVs are less expensive than art! I just don't like them in bedrooms. Sigh.

I generally prefer minimal or no window coverings (except in the bedroom and my woman cave), but I live close to a street and neighbors, so I have flat panels on the lower half of my double living room windows. I love them! This is my second set. Someone might come up with a more elegant solution, but I wanted to be able to open mine on sunny days so I have them hanging from rings sewn into each upper corner, and when I open them I let them hang in folds on the outside (since there are 2 windows in each unit there is an outside.) I made mine, and this set I smartened up and lined them (just attaching the lining at the top.) The sun really fades! Kathy

It is in Dee Gruenig's studio, who is a stamp design artist for Posh Impressions. I tried googling various things to see if that would bring up anything, but came up empty. I'm from the Northeast originally, and love the outdoors, which is probably why it appeals to me...

I adore that piece and would love to have it myself!!

It's primitive nature reminds me a bit of Michel Delacroix. I enjoy his pics of Paris more than the normal cafe scenes you find everywhere. Your artist is much more dense in her placement of objects and I just love it.

Take the picture to your local art gallery and ask if the curator might know and if not, could he/she recommend someone at a local university who might know. It really is quite beautiful.

It looks very much like a Grandma Moses piece. She like to have a lot of winding rivers and roads in her art work with little buildings and people scattered around it.

bestyears: I think I may have to agree with justgotabme and say that this piece of art was created by Dee Gruenig herself.

I came across a show synopsis for the Carol Duvall show on HGTV where they basically tour Dee's studio. From the synopsis it says, "We will have a rare opportunity to see some of the paintings that Dee has created to add to the decor of her house, as well as the interesting upholstery she had made from her own stamped designs." That leads me to believe it's her own creation.

I don't know if there's ways to watch old episodes, but maybe it would tell you a little more if you got to see it. You could also try contacting her people at her web site (poshimpressions.com) to see if they might be able to help.

Thanks everyone for the help... I actually did email her site once I realized that Dee Greunig OWNS posh impressions. From a few samplings of her own artwork that I've seen, I don't honestly think it is her work, but I've been wrong before in my life (once or twice haha). If I get a response I'll let you all know.

It seems unlikely to me that an artist would have one of their own pieces right in front of their desk. That would drive me crazy!

I hope you will post the artist's name when you find it.

She was on blog talk radio about a year ago. Here is a link to that program. It is an hour-long and there is a call-in number, where you might be able to call and get an answer but after seeing some of her water colors, I am going to guess this is her own creation.

Wanted to let you all know I received a lovely email response from "Warren Gruenig" today, telling me that the artist of this piece is M. Migoet. Unfortunately for me, in the little research I've done so far, it looks as though she deals in originals only -no prints....

Flyleft--you're closer than you know. M. Migoet is Krysia Gaines and she's in her 70s.
