Mine was installed in May of last year, and we're very happy with it. We shopped for it for several months until we finally chose this one. It had *just* come out, lucky for us. The only thing I wish was different was that the beer zone was about a 1/2" taller...if it were we'd have more options for configuring the adjustable shelf in that zone. Aren't appliance salesmen the best? Our salesmen told us we were stupid for wanting a 2-zone wine fridge! He said it was best to use a 1-zone and follow the rule of 20: Chill whites for 20 minutes in your regular fridge before drinking, and put the red on the counter for 20 minutes brfore drinking. 20 Minutes?? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a wine fridge for the typical consumer? Sure if I were a connessoir and was stashing valuable bottles in there, but my two-buck chuck isn't worth waiting 20 minutes for. Anyway... The LCD temperature display isn't a setting, it's a real time temperature. When you adjust the temperature setting, it takes a little while for the dislayed temp to change. The LCD temperature reading for the beer section is dead on. I measured it with a thermometer to be sure it was food safe. I didn't measure the other two zones, but I have no reason to believe those temps are off. The white wine is chilled but not overly so like you get from storing it in the fridge. The red wine is cool to the touch, but not cold enough to get a mist of condensation on your glass. We're not wine collectors though. We just enjoy drinking wine. Not to worry, Bob. Your post wasn't harsh, and my question wasn't all that deep. Most of my friends prefer wine, but I like to keep some beer around for casual use, especially in summer. My son likes Stella Artois, Guinness, and Pilsner Urquell, and my son-in-law's fridge always has something interesting in it, often from Asia. Although I don't have a sophisticated palate for beer myself, I like to try new things. I learned more with this thread than I have in my attempts to question the beer clerks. :-) It's okay to be a bit of a beer snob. I understand completely. I'm a bit of a red wine snob. I'd rather drink none than accept a glass of cheap bar wine. It tastes awful to me. My son, I discovered recently, is a bit of a vodka snob. He gave me a hard time for buying Pinnacle. I redeemed myself only when I pointed out that the Pinnacle is for "fancy" cocktails, but I keep Grey Goose for martinis. I really should learn more about beers, given my Belgian heritage. (I also have a Scottish heritage, but those single-malts are too expensive.) Incidentally, what's the alcohol content of Delirium Nocturnum? Someone told me recently about a beer called Delirium Tremens. What an awful name! It has a scary alcohol content. LindaC, Dont get me wrong, I am not making a scientific statistical statement here that Chinese ladies dont drink. I am only saying that in the many times I have traveled throughout China, many times to Hong Kong, Macau, Toronto, at least 20 times to Vancouver, many years of eating here in NYCs Chinatown, Flushings Chinatown, and Brooklyns Chinatown, I just dont remember ever having seen a Chinese lady consuming alcohol. I am certainly not disputing your having observed the opposite situation. It is just very interesting that my observations are quite different. gina_w, I am also surprised that this alcohol topic is dragging out a little longer than I expected. I do find it an interesting topic of learning because it so different than our Western culture and as part of eating habits. This is really the first time I look up the information to confirm what I have heard all along, for my own benefit and not for the sake of argument, about alcohol sensitivity. I dont believe that I have said "all Asian" anywhere. I am not making any "assertions" other than my own may be biased observations. I am sorry that my one-time referencing Wiki seemed to offend you. Sometime people get offended if you dont cite references. I do understand you have substantial "credential" in these topics, which makes it even more curious to me, for example, your observation that the Chinese and Japanese have similar social drinking practices is very different than mine. The Chinese and the Japanese working and socializing habits are nowhere near in my experience. I ride the train here in NY Westchester back and forth regularly. The train is also known as "Train to Tokyo " because so many Japanese work late into the night. You will not see too many Chinese work that way. I have been invited a few times to Japanese nighttime "entertainment" with the guys, and I know what you mean by their drinking habits.
