Yes, the water in the pan is there to help keep your condenser cooled ... without the water there, you'ld be burning it up. My concern is, if the condensate (water buildup) on the inside of the unit is there because the drain is blocked, is enough water getting to the back area of the unit where the condenser is to keep it cool? There is usually a small drain hole between the front and the back that allows the water condensate from the front to naturally flow to the back and keep that condenser happy. If that hole is blocked up, you need to open it up ... Is it possible to just uninstall the unit, take out outside and direct a good hard water spray into the problem area to look for the drain hole and clear it out? Keep in mind that you'll want to let the unit dry off overnight at least, before plugging it back in if you spray all over it.

Hi, and thanks for responding. Our old windows are 30 year old aluminum frame picture windows that were in the house when we bought it. We were hoping to replace at least the back of the house this year, but since we are currently updating our kitchen we thought we would start there. It has a small window and I thought a bow window would make the kitchen look larger and with casement side lites we could also have some ventillation. It is the casement that restricts some makers. The panes have to be so narrow that there is not enough room for the mechanism.

WoW, Ltd; thank you so much for trying to help. I appreciate it. That link shows a similar connection except mine does not have the safety catches. I tried the Marvin site, which is heavy with "buy the latest and greatest " and very light on the "how to" section...and they have no customer service after 7 p.m. I asked the carpenter to come back the next evening. I overheard him saying "...we could just take these screws out..." I could not risk my way-too-expensive window this close to winter. I know the Marvin rep that came out in June did not remove any screws. This morning I called Marvin's customer service and had a rep walk me through the process. He explained the process very well and made the dual-arm roto-gear connections make sense in my mind. I got the window unhooked from the three arms and removed it without a hitch, nick, or scratch. As the phone rep was guiding me through the process I stopped and made step-by-step notes. They will be typed out; photos added; and filed in the "Living Room" folder. I won't be caught short again! I also pleaded with him to ask the powers-that-be to add "How to..." sections for each product they sell with instructions for all the functions. Thanks again. It was kind of you to try to find videos for me. Now I'm going to march bravely toward the next challenge/disaster/goat rope this old house throws at me!

Thanks for the suggestions, both of you. I tried that earlier, Richard, and see some things, but not all. It's weird . . . even in Libraries in the Photoshop menu, my folder named 2015 Photos is missing, but everything else in that section (Libraries --> Pictures) is there, including 2012 Photos, 2013 Photos, and 2014 Photos. Aputernut, going that route the photo folders are not visible to me. I checked the Settings to make sure recently used files/folders aren't hidden, and they weren't. I didn't ask W10 to make any changes whatsoever. The photo option I referred to able was an app it wanted to add, and I refused. Windows 7 didn't mess with my photos, and I didn't want to "improve" on that. I'm not concerned that I've lost these pictures; I have them backed up, and I'm pretty sure they're still on the computer; I just can't get to them.
