OMG how scary! I hope you get a new roof or your money back.... If it makes you feel any better, I had a guy knock on my door too, claimed I had hail damage. State Farm sent someone and they agreed. My roof only cost 9k, and State Farm covered 7k... I did end up using the guy who knocked on my door and everything turned out fine... But I didn't give him any money upfront.

Mike - I finally tried the minneola (posted about it in another thread) and here is what I wrote in the other thread - And it's funny you guys mentioning the minneola - well I had posted in another thread that I had been to an international store this past week and found some for sale (and bought 2). I finally tried one the day before yesterday and like a baby, I needed a big bib! LOL OMG, after I peeled it (it has the thicker rind that I guess comes from its pomelo heritage), I pulled off a slice, took a bite, and must have had a half a glass of juice all down the front of me. LOL It had no seeds and also had an interesting "floral" after-taste to it. But no doubt about it, it was juice juice juice. Bite squirt slurp bite squirt slurp. Thank goodness for paper towels (napkins wouldn't have been enough). LOL Nancy - those trees look great! Mine were supposed to ship Monday (the label was created Sunday and I got an email from FW that the trees would ship Monday) but they ended up shipping Tuesday. However since I did the 2-day priority mail option, they are due for delivery today (status is "Out for Deliver" and haven't come yet so they are rolling around in one of those little postal trucks...lol). I do live like 2 blocks from the post office but because of that, sometimes we get our mail last. Denise - wish your daughter good luck for the coming semester! Move-in time is always hectic but I think she will be excited once she gets settled in and you will be relived when it's over... but you know you will miss your baby! :-D You can put some good music on in the car and just roll with the flow! The time for the drive will go by faster.

Water does not "seep in" from properly installed windows. Which means if the windows require flashing/caulking repair on the exterior of this building, the new window attempt will fail. There is a HUGE difference between replacement windows, and new construction windows, the least of which is less glass on the replacement. If you have installed replacement windows into the ( pre existing) old and failing frames of an aging building, or WHO knows what, the wet/damp issue will not be solved. For all you know there is an issue with windows in the building that needs to be addressed at the exterior. Does anyone else in the building have a "wet" problem at the window area? You are asking us why the help doesn't show up, why a project that should have taken two month is taking six months. You're asking was the drywall patched or replaced, and how could we know? We still don't even know what the entire scope of the 8 week work was, was anything successfully completed. All we know is you still owe the GC ten k and he owes you the finish to completion .......and your satisfaction. You aren't home all day, you go to work so the one thing we DO know is you aren't suffering agoraphobia. You ARE suffering a fear of asking the only people who can answer the questions and that would be the still way behind GC and whoever patched or replaced windows and drywall, be that the GC or one of his subs. Also....might be time to talk to some neighbors.
