Think your comforter is attractive. It is a lot of red, but it has the sagey tones as well. In person the red may not be stealing the show as much as it does in the photo. If I hadn't seen the photo of your quilt, I would probably like it more. Your quilt is simply gorgeous & could not be better for the room! You nailed it w/ that one! LLBean should see photos of your room. In their catalog I doubt the quilt looks as great as it does in your room! In fact, I remember seeing that quilt in the catalog & wasn't that impressed w/ it, but in your room, it's fantastic. It works so well w/ your paint,& is adorable on your bed...AND, you need warmth for the winter... so the comforter will be nice.

Thanks everyone. I guess I can tell DH it's ok to throw out all the packaging now. It was SO different to me at first. But when I folded the comforter at the bottom and have looked at it a couple days I'm liking it a lot.

mcps - Did you order this one in green? I know you said you were thinking about it. I'd love to see pics if you did.

Very charming room! I like both the quilts, and other than the bike I think the furniture you have offers a great acclectic look. :c)

I think it is doable. The green pillows also work, but I would add a third pillow with a lot of cream in the background to connect with the comforter and bedskirt.

I would fold the cream comforter longways, so that it doesn't cover as much of the bed but does hang down more on the sides - it looks too small for the bed right now.

Would it be possible to find a new home for the trunk that is currently at the end of the bed? I think it really spoils the nice curved lines of the footboard.

A chair instead of the bike in the corner would be nice (tho not as heart-healthy! LOL). Something in a cream color, so that you can change accent pillows and throws on that seasonally as well. A nice floor lamp, perhaps the small table from the corner beside the chair.

Hi Les, thanks for the suggestions. I think a light pillow would help too. I looked a little today when I was out but didn't see the right one yet. I'm lucky the green ones and the bedskirt work with both quilts I guess! I was afraid the comforter looks a little small. I looked to see, and folding it the other way doesn't help. It's a queen size on a king bed. Serves the practical purpose of keeping us warm but doesn't have much hang to it. I'll keep my eye out for another. I like the color of it. Good idea to use that small table beside a chair. It's an old telephone table out of my great aunt's house and I'd love to find a spot for it that makes sense.

I want to fix another guest room upstairs. When I do that this fall I could probably use the chest up there. It was my grandma's and is a keeper but I wouldn't mind putting it in a guest room. It would make a good spot for someone to open their suitcase.

Still have work to do on this room but I couldn't move on until I found a "winter" quilt and I think I've found it :-)

No I didn't order the green one. I went waaaay over budget on my Kitchen and Bath remodel - so I'm on a beans and rice budget for a while! But I've been thinking I want to paint my bedroom SW Livable Green - and I really like the way the RED quilt looks in YOUR room!

straitlover - Yes it's Ashley bittersweet bed. I love it also and I keep thinking about Les's suggestion to move my chest so it will show better. I need to do that!

mcps - The red does have a sage color on the border that ties it with the green but I think the other colors looked nice too. Some thought my room might get too Christmassy but the I think the shades of red and green aren't too holiday looking. Let me know if you get the green one. It feels like good quality and the size is generous on my king bed.

Thanks everyone for the compliments and affirmation on my quilt. I've thrown away the box and packaging now so it's a done deal! I kept telling DH to wait until it passed majority committee approval then we can toss it :-)

Oooooh Squirrel what a cool idea. I'm headed out for dinner but as soon as I get home I'm doing it and see how that looks. That's what I love about this place, that would have never occurred to me!
