Comments (4)LOL, Andie, I discovered a couple of things bought new in the fifties when I first set up apartment after college are now known as "midcentury" which sounds positively ancient. I've been using the martini pitcher as a vase for over 40 years...LOL There's something called the "Longest Flea Market" (?) which starts I believe in TN and continues along the highway down thru AL each year, towns and individuals along the route setting up almost continuous tents, etc. I've never ventured but I know folks who haul trailers to it every year. I'm glad these old treasures are being saved to be used and enjoyed again. josh...See MoreWhere to buy bedding
Comments (20)I bought the most beautiful duvet cover at Pottery Barn on sale but then I could not get the other matching pieces and I drove all over the place and even spent time making phone calls. I finally gave up and returned it since I wanted matching shams. I then bought a comforter with matching shams and pillows at JCPenney for a great price in a tone on tone ivory that I love. I bought the prettiest duvet cover on EBay to put my new down comforter in that unfortunately is a little small for my queen bed so I now keep it under the comforter. I have decided for bedding I prefer to buy and try out on my bed from local stores that have a return policy....See MoreBold black type, Please?
Comments (25)Making the text a darker bolder black color with in the actual body of the post and replies would not even be seen on the main pages so that surely can't be the logic, if so it is flawed. You would actually have to click on a topic to view the post and then see the darker font. But they are already using the perfect color on the houzz heading, the dark houzz top left beside the icon. And they changed it on the main pages for the posters name, so why the problem with doing it here in the replies where it's desperately needed. If anyone knows of any way to alter the fonts and colors for an Android browser please post your suggestions. I am currently using Boat browser which does have themes and I am using one but no browser I have tried has font color choices....See MoreDuvets, comforters, bedspreads, covelets, what's the difference?
Comments (8)After reading CB's comment, I suppose there is a lot more confusion about this than I thought! haha. My understanding is: 1. Comforter - can be like CB described, a bed-in-a-bag thickly stuffed fluffy blanket that goes on top of the bed. It can also be a high quality down or synthetic fill fluffy blanket usually sold in white, but can come in other colors as well. 2. Duvet - is the decorative "envelope" for a plain down comforter. The comforter is placed inside the duvet and the duvet usually has one end with buttons to secure the comforter inside the duvet. This allows you to have the comfort of a down blanket with much more extravagant decorations than down comforters typically come in. 3. Bedspread - is used in lieu of a comforter most times. It is a decorative blanket, usually much thinner than a comforter and has a nice decorative detail. Is used on top of the whole bed normally. Is usually a large size that covers the length of the bed all the way down the sides to the floor 4. Coverlet - more like a quilt. Smaller than bedspread. Lots of people use these to fold at the foot of the bed and use to keep feet warm to to pull up to provide extra warmth during the night....See Morebronwynsmom
