Duvet covers and comforter questions
Comments (27)I am from england and a duvet to me means the fluffy down filled blanket an the cover what goes over it. As other ppl have said u can get different weights of these duvets an it wouldn't matter how fluffy the duvet is as long as it's the same measurements, the cover shouldn't rip as long as it's a duvet you are putting in it. The fastenings usually go at the bottom of the bed basically for cosmetic reasons and also I have found when fastenings have been at the top I tend to somehow end up with my arms inside the cover! I also don't like feeling the fastenings when I am trying to get comfortable. Not sure if that helps but that's how we do it here....See MoreBold black type, Please?
Comments (25)Making the text a darker bolder black color with in the actual body of the post and replies would not even be seen on the main pages so that surely can't be the logic, if so it is flawed. You would actually have to click on a topic to view the post and then see the darker font. But they are already using the perfect color on the houzz heading, the dark houzz top left beside the icon. And they changed it on the main pages for the posters name, so why the problem with doing it here in the replies where it's desperately needed. If anyone knows of any way to alter the fonts and colors for an Android browser please post your suggestions. I am currently using Boat browser which does have themes and I am using one but no browser I have tried has font color choices....See MoreGood quality duvets/comforters for a gift to my adult neiece
Comments (15)For an adult, I would get a decent quality down or down alternative comforter and then a print cover or an inexpensive print comforter. The comforter can last a very long time and go through a number of different covers as seasons or desires change. The animals and whimsy are fun, but for most adults, they would have a limited lifespan. And I am aa fan of whimsy. The Company Store and Cucddledown have nice comforters in lighter weights, but they will cost more than some you will be able to find on sale. Macy's has some on sale this weekend and likely will have at least some on sale now through the end of the year. It will become a question of selection at some point. You say she lives in a warmer climate. I am in Texas -- closer to Houston. We have the lightest weight from Company Store and only used it a couple of nights last year. It just didn't get cold enough. A down blanket or cotton quilt is plenty most of the time, but some years are different....See MoreBedspread/Duvet Cover
Comments (18)I'd suggest eBay. There are lots of brand new, still in packaging or new with tag options at reasonable prices. Here are a few examples. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ralph-Lauren-Half-Moon-Bay-Phoebe-Duvet-Cover-Full-Queen-Size-Pale-Blue-Bohemian/312439955590?hash=item48bedf6086:g:xTcAAOSwxHlcR4Kf:rk:12:pf:0&LH_ItemCondition=1000&LH_BIN=1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tahari-Paisley-Floral-Scroll-Medallion-Queen-Duvet-Cover-Standard-Shams-NIP-Blue/332575277930?hash=item4d6f08036a:g:OQ8AAOSwf-RanEZX:rk:19:pf:0&LH_ItemCondition=1000&LH_BIN=1 I also saw this PB duvet on their website for about $80. https://www.potterybarn.com/products/briella-print-duvet-sham/?catalogId=80&sku=3317256&cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Bedding%20%3E%20Duvet%20Covers%20%3E%20Patterned&cm_ite=3317256&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj4T56quq4AIVV57ACh0XHg1pEAQYBSABEgJ4FvD_BwE...See MoreAtomicJay007
