Jay, how great of you to "volunteer" for this and what a great idea! (I'm sure a lot of us get asked to do things when it comes to tables/decor as we start to get a "reputation" for it!) Your Mother/Daughter Tea set up reminds me so much of the Victorian Tea we did for quite a few years at our church. We had lots of different tables each decorated by different ladies using what they had so that each table was very unique - even the tablecloths were their own so it was not "matchy" at all. The way we did the tea was to keep big pots (soup stock type) full of water boiling on the stove. We made the tea in the kitchen in urns so that it steeped nicely and then poured it into individual teapots that were taken to and left on the tables. Do you have enough teapots for that? The part that is nice about that too is that the guests can refill their cups (which are usually small!)as often as they need to right at the table. We even had someone who loved to sew make us a bunch of different tea cozies to keep the pot warm on the table (that way the teapot didn't have to match the china as it was covered most of the time) Hope you have fun planning it and don't get too stressed out! I think the candies are beautiful. They will look lovely with the napkins. I love the idea of antique architectural elements, even to just to use them on the guest book table etc. will help set the tone. You can look in craft stores, such as Michaels. Funny you mentioned Martha. That is what my friends call me : ), so I am feeling a lot of pressure to get everything just right with this wedding. It is hard because my daughter has her ideas and it is her wedding. I am being the good mom, supporting what is in the budget and what I think will work and waiting her out on things I don't. How difficult do you want it to be? I just returned a library book by Plaid and in it was a really cute dresser. They overlaid the entire piece with a one-piece stencil (so the result looked like a damask material over the entire piece)then stenciled a small repeat design laid out in a rectangle on the sides and on the top. This was a small petal border with a group of roses in a cluster at each corner. The one piece overall stencil was done in a muted cream so it sort of blended into the background. Hope you can get the mental picture. It was lovely and different.

Oopsie, IâÂÂm not offended. The frame and mat is what made me hesitate to buy the picture. IRL the frame actually appears a light green over the gold thatâÂÂs showing up. The top or bottom of the frame is more true to the color. I think it would look better with a white/cream mat and darker frame. Laurie, Thanks! I think IâÂÂm going to keep it here for now. I like the height above the table. Kmcg, I only have the Gold and Patina rub n buff but donâÂÂt like either. IâÂÂd like to get the Spanish Copper color. I could use black paint like I did those gold shelves in the kitchen area. Just dry wiped it on leaving some show through. I did think about tearing the back apart to spray paint the mat but then was concerned about putting it back together right. The back is all nice and neat. I wish they wouldnâÂÂt of used a mat that has fake mats on the same one. (the green) The frame on the chunkier frame hunt print is a cherry color but that wood in front is an odd metallic gold. Could paint that too. IâÂÂm going to call that local place and at least get a price for the other. Need some type of game plan. I really want to use the hunt prints together and the way they are now, I donâÂÂt think theyâÂÂre substantial enough to go over the wing and table. Organic, I have bought a few smaller frames but then it seems like I canâÂÂt find anything to put in them, lol. IâÂÂm hanging on to them though since theyâÂÂre nice.
