I met my wife five years ago and been married for three. When I first met her she was left with three children and just out of an abusive relationship. I took it slow at first, but soon became the knight in shining armor. Through my own free will, I provided her with financial support due to the fact that her X was not providing any. After a while I became fustrated because she was not inforcing the child support and relying on me to maintain the basic needs of her home and family. Her X was also stopping her on the street almost on a daily basis. I was of course not very happy about this. This was stopped, without my knowledge, by freinds and co- workers and it tapered off.
As time went by fustration set in and I decided to have her phone tapped[please do not ask why I did this].One conversation was had between her and her x that I took as an act of war. He enformed her that I could provide her with all her needs and more. I did not know this man ,but he knew quite alot about me,due to a very high profile career. I had to put my foot down, and basically force her to seek the support from her X. It was do it or I'm gone. She did this, but constantly argued that she felt in danger. I reasured her that I would all that was nessasary to provide protection for her and the children. Some months went by and soon the support came , but only because of the legal system enforcing it. Months later she dropped the monthly support by four hunred dollars, and the ironic part of all this is that it went retroactive and he did'nt have to pay for over a year. I asked her why she would do such a thing, and she ussed fear as an answer. At the time it made sense. He disappeared for a fwe years. For her safety I had a house built in the outskirts of the city, hoping to go on with oue lives. I married her and accepted the children as my own.
Now I am living a nightmare from the time I awake to the time I retire. The new home has been turned into a what looks like a war torn village. My oldest step-daughter, now ten, verbally and phsically abuses me daily. She is bold enough to tell me that I cannot do anything because she is just a child. She has destroyed the home to the point that I don't even feel like coming home.To see holes in walls and broken doors is very depressing. I often make excuses to work late so not to deal with her. I do, however get along with the younger ones. My wife defends her to the end and blames me for all that is happening, her daughter has become quite the drama queen. In my house there is no response for any wrong actions. I have had enough of this and have vowed never to become involved in another relationship again. I really dont't agree with my wife's theory that I have to gain her respect. The knight is down but not out. Conflict has become a daily thing. Conflict is my speciality. It is what I deal with on the job. Funny I can't handle it at home. My fear is that I will lose all that I have worked so very hard to accomplish. I paid for the home and all the knick knacks, and now I may lose it all. Today is my third wedding anniversary and tommorow I will be seeking legal advice to end it. No good deed goes unpunished. I now live my life based on this quote. I was such a good man, and now I have grown old very quickly. I need some help to help me cope with what is about to happen. I am sure she will go for all I have. I wonder if I will be able to keep my sanity when I see strips taken away piece
by piece. I could use a hand.
Thank you for your time.
