Trash To Treasure

Thanks Carol and another question

I am going out tomorrow and will report back with having found something to do an outdoor display....however, I was just thinking, I have a quilt rack, solid wood....pretty, but taking up space....I would have to secure it somehow if I put it outside, as it is tall with two arms??? for the quilts to hang on. Just no room in spare room. But can anyone think of how to use it, put pine trees around it????? Or anything I can do with it....it will need to be painted as it is Walnut. Too someone feel free to tell me I am crazy not to use it as a quilt rack :-)

I like the idea of curb shopping better -- as things outside apartment doors can suddenly turn up missing. I kinda' hate the idea of painting walnut, too, but haven't seen the piece. Good luck with your shopping and I hope you'll post a picture of what you do.

You can use it to hang bird feeders outside (the ones with seed and lard etc) or you can use it inside on the wall to suspend show plates, dish towels, dry clothes in the laundry room etc

I got mine at a farmer's supply store, since most farmers know at least a little bit about making a weld, well, sort of if Ag. welding hold for more then a few hours. A joke real welders tell on Ag. welders is; the bigger the glob, the better the job, lol. Needless to say industrial welders tend to go for what works best and looks better then Ag. stuff.

Hi Kevin, It looks like those lights are surely working! My Penang Peach FINALLY went dormant. I was sad to see the blooms fade and drop, along with the inflo, but I now have 3 tips that are going to make this tree fill out nicely. I have to say that having the HPS light has really helped my plumeria stay nice and healthy. I have noticed that even when there dormant, they are much more healthy than before when I just kept them in the dark cool basement. Andrew

I agree, but there's a specific WAY to use the Oxyclean. Start off by mixing it about twice the normal strength recommended on the side of the tub. Next, use a brush to agitate (scrub) it. After you finish an area, rather than mopping it up, use a wet-vac, and vacuum it up, instead. The reason I say this is because if you mop it up, you're just imbedding the dirt right back into the grout with the mop. With a wet-vac, you pull it right away from the grout. Once that's done, do the same thing all over again with clear water. Scrub it, and then vacuum it up. Once it dries, it won't be like new, but guaranteed, it'll be 100% better than what you started with.

Had a couple setbacks... Learned fast that Bloomstruck being young wilted in sun... Not enough roots to get water to plant... So started shading and that worked fine but forgot to shade one day and plant wilted bad...Also we been getting a ton of rain probably 8-10 inches just this month...All in all still doing ok.... They have flowered quite a bit since I planted them in May... We have 90 degree days coming starting tomorrow so I might have to still shade them a bit... Our temps have been mild for a long while like 70's... Learning as I go...lol Today:
