Making a headboard out of old cabinets?

I think I found a new home here! Where have I been??!

This may sound like an odd idea, but after seeing some headboards made on shows on HGTV, and in particular a headboard made out of a large wooden door, a thought crossed my mind. What about using cabinet doors as a headboard? I've never seen it done and have even looked to see if it's ever been done but to no avail. Flat or raised panels in various styles could be used and lined up and butted up next to each other in a few rows depending on how large/tall you want the headboard to be. They could have additional wood/moulding added if desired and then the entire thing painted. Possibly even removing the inserts from cabinets, in the case that they have inserts, and possibly adding tin or some other interesting material.

Has anyone seen anything like this ever done? And what do you think? Is this a crazy idea?

Here's a website that may help you visualize what I'm talking about better.
