Thank you for your suggestions. I ended up using brown clay and one of my tools to "dab" hair on him. I put a flattened disk on his head and then made hair strands by repeatedly dabbing the clay with the tools straight edge. I think it came out ok. I like him. I will post the pictures tomorrow sometime. I have to wait for him to finish baing and then cool before I can add his head to his body. I ill take the pics later tonight after all his glue dries and I can move him! They are adorable!!! Thanks again everyone!

I had the pattern years ago and the doll burned up in our house. Years later McCall's repeated the pattern and I made several dolls for family and for sale. I may still have the pattern in storage but I'm not sure. JoMo

I can see where the head rail is deeper than the window frame and if they left it with bare metal showing, then that would bother me also. If you decide you want to keep the blinds I would have a wood cornice made so that it blends with the existing wood frame and covers the metal head rail. See pic below. I suggest that you live with the windows for awhile before deciding which type of window treatment works best for that room.

I think 20-25 would be a good craigslist or eBaby price, or garage sale. 1950s decal/stencil, looks like someone later slapped some paint over the decal of the girl.
