MY DH is working (he works most holidays) so I am alone (21 year old son is hiding out in his room & going to my ex-mother-in-law's). DH will be picking up my stepdaughter on his way home & won't be back until dinnertime tomorrow. We are having our Thanksgiving then. Today I am just cleaning & cooking the pumpkin pies & homemade bread & noodles. Linda

HAPPY THANKSGIVING--ya'll!! size>color> We were scheduled to have a total of 11 of us, but most of us are sick! There's some 'Coughing up a Lung' virus making the rounds in this part of our world so I'm not sure WHO will either be able to come or will want to if they haven't contracted it from someone else already! But--to brighten your Thanksgiving season, I am going to share with you, what one of my favorite (albeit infrequent) posters has sent me today! It will give you a good laugh!! PREGNANT TURKEY STORY One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's' house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. with a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, 'Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!'At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs! Yep..................she's blonde! That's my turkey--coughing up a lung, like the rest of us!!! ;o)

Well, you have a "new" family that really cares about you. I hope this continues to bring comfort as you struggle with what you cannot fix.
