I'm still working on things:-) Here is the painted window so far: I also have started working on this window. I nailed the picket planter to the window and hope to find some small shutters. It needs another coat of paint. I think I will just use fake flowers in this planter: I can't finish the metal bed until it's ready to place in the garden, have to wait for winter to end:-) I have been painting the bed spindles with the same color I painted spindles to make garden tools to hang from the side of the bed. Got that idea from a poster here who made the tools hanging from a old rake:-) Thanks for that idea!! Also in the picture are 2 insulators that I'm making into hanging candle holders. I need to find something to put on the wire to jazz them up:-) The other white spindle holds a sign that says 'This Way To Mom's Garden". It needs to be painted with another color.

At the suggestion of many at GW, I was considering getting a custom framed mirror. I would provide the frame and my local glass place would cut and fit a beveled mirror into the frame. The cost of a 48x30 1/4" mirror which included installing into a frame was in the region of $125, which I though was very reasonable. Unfortunately the frame I ordered online proved to be too disappointing to use so I ended up buying an already framed mirror. My point is that, unless you already have a magnificent mirror, it makes more sense to buy a new one than get an existing one modified.

I love the old chippy windows! I've used Posca markers on a couple of them. These are the markers that used car dealers use to write on windshields. Washes off with rubbing alcohol if you decide you no longer want it there. I wrote on the backside of this one, so I can write (and erase) things on the front. My last name is covered up in this one, there isn't a big empty square there. :-) I've also used transparencies with graphics I copied from the computer in the smaller panes of another window. Looks like painted glass. All these are posted somewhere at the Trash to Treasure forum, you can find lots of other window ideas there too.

The 1st thing that popped in my head was from a recent photo I saw somewhere of a rather large empty wooden frame (probably was from a mirror too) that was hung with a framed picture inside of it. It was very eye catching, and the frames had 2 different finishes/colors. I'd love to do this project myself because I have a literal ton of empty frames of all sizes. I'd love to see what you finally decide to do with it.
