Paula, The "only 39 days away" made me realize I'd better get busy figuring out what I am going to bring! I suppose it is a foregone conclusion I'll be bringing my extra tomato plants, and so far I've managed to not kill very many seedlings, so I have a lot of extras. I need to scout the garden and see what else I'll have to bring. Give the onions time to perk up. Often it takes them a couple of weeks after they were planted before you see much happening above ground, but they're likely putting out roots below ground. For door prizes, people bring anything they want to give away. We 'sign in' on a sign-in sheet when we arrive, and then someone (I think last year it was Plantermunn and Mrs. Plantermunn as they organized last year's plant swap) makes slips of paper with each person's name of them. Near the end of the swap (or maybe in the middle...), someone pulls the names out of a hat and awards door prizes. It is great fun. CONGRATS to DH on his new job. I know y'all must be so excited! It is a shame you're going to lose your full-time gardener, though. lol I think you mean Gamebird? She hasn't been online much this year. I hope that's a good thing and means she did find a new job. In this economy, it has been so hard to see so many folks unemployed for so long. I hope she's doing well. Maybe she'll see this thread and pop in to let us know if she's OK. THANK YOU! loribee, here's a pic of the whole room where the chairs are gonna live. :0) We plan on doing a fireplace remodel, stacked stone to the ceiling 22', lower the fireplace to the floor, take out the lower mantle, wire a spot above the fp for a flat screen tv. So this is what it looks like "now". I used to have floor pillows where the chairs are, so for me it's an improvement! I needed a conversatonal grouping. :0) The brown leather couch is also new. I used to have this room full of white leather & it just disappeared with the white walls & sunlight. :0)

I have some word signs. Hand made on reclaimed wood with a bible verse that is important to me and another with a saying that means something to me. I have noticed that word art is everywhere. I am not a fan of most of what I see in stores because I like that I made my art myself with words that I thought about before using and hanging on my walls. I do have one "store bought" sign (it's just the word FAMILY) but I bought it bc it is the perfect shade of red in a room that needed one more red item. When and if I find something else to take its place in the future I won't feel bad about replacing it because it didn't cost much. I bought it at Homegoods. I didn't think my signs were pedestrian. But this isn't the first time that reading a thread has made me realise my decor choices aren't cool, original, or in vogue at Gardenweb. Regardless, I love what I put on my walls and it is me and my family that has to read them every day...so they stay. If a friend chose not to visit because of the way that I decorate...well that's a friend I don't mind losing.
