Spring break vacation Ideas

We would like a place where it is warm, things to do and see, amusment parks, tourist type place. How far south do we need to go and where. I do not want Florida or South Carolina. We have done those already. Thanks in Advance

How about New Orleans? Great fun, lots to do, quite warm.

How far south you need to go would depend on how far north you are LOL. As for good amusement parks Cedar Point in Ohio is my great. Actually there is a lot to do in Ohio. If you really like amusement parks you could also hit Kings Island and Six Flags. You'll need to check and see when these parks open up for the season. I think most spring breaks might be too early for Cedar Point, but I don't know about the other 2 parks.

I lost my seedlings while on vacation for Spring break. This has never happened before. I watered them well and left them inside for the week. Same as I've always done. For some reason this year, I came back to find them all dead or dying. I am miserable to say the least. I started seeds for the following, but would be happy to receive others: New Big Dwarf, Neves Azorean Red, Mortgage Lifter, Eva's Purple Ball, Cuostralee, Big Beef, Earl's Faux, White Queen, Speckled Roman and Goose Creek. I am planning to replant but would really like something to plant now. These are going to be so late in the season. Hope to get at least some maters before Fall. I have lots of seeds to trade, most from reliable traders here on the tomato forum. All of the ones listed above, I have in small quantities. Please email me to let me know what you're looking for. Also check my trade list (last updated this winter). I will ofcourse pay postage, USPS $4.95 priority mail. Thanks in advance, April

I can just imagine the good time you must have had Glenda! I never did the spring break thing when I was younger, but now it's part of my job. I'm responsible for promotions at three different spring break locations, Panama City Beach, South Padre Island and Key West. It's crazy!!! We'll be at PCB & SPI for two full weeks and KW one week. PCB is definitely THE breakers location of choice in the US! It'll keep me on my toes for the next six weeks. Those kids can get pretty wild. ~Betsy

my dh is a grad student and today is his last weekdday for break @ UCF :-( he is a mechical engineer w/ City of Orlando and absolutely had to work M-Thur because they are writing new energy contracts right now and he's their analyst for it. he already had several class papers to write and turn in so he has not really had a break except going to classes m-thur 4:00-10pm. he is going shark fishing sat. and offshore fishing all day sunday, so atleast he got something fun in. last month before my insane work started, we spent a few days staying at grand floridian in disney, i'm all disney'd out till the Food & Wine Festival. next weekend we're doing Universal Studios for 2 concerts. ~ liz

Thanks guys! It has been a terrible vacation, but still nice to see my father. I was really sick and am just now feeling better. The plumbers that were out there all day Friday seemed incompetent and I think they weren’t plumbers but were technicians who only know how to unclog drains. Chispa- Thanks! I think a home is a better choice for extended periods of time. We considered La Quinta Resort, but everytime we go to eat there, there are so many people and children. We just wanted peace. And it’s nice to have a kitchen and w/d, plus a pool. The house is like it’s own little compound. It’s walled off by high shrubs and completely private. .

Colonial Williamsburg - Six Flags is 15 minutes away from C.W. - also historic Yorktown and Jamestown Settlement are nearby. You can purchase lodging packages that include passes to all three sites - there are more things to see than you could possibly do in a week.

Ohio is not only not warm during spring break...it's usually quite COLD. Cedar Point isn't open yet. They usually open on a limited basis the first week of May.
