Hi there thanks Yea, should have known that the pics do not really suffice @Ken, I think I assumed wrong when calling it annual, when rethinking: annual, very short lived species tend to flower very early, so no flowers should point to perennial actually, it is definetely a grass, some Poaceae, (no Hem or some such) good news I will be back on that roof in September and then either take more pics ot one actual clump. unless the gardeners have it eliminated till then... and guess what, even though it is in a roof top, roughly 20 Meter (or 20+ yards) high or above ground level, all sorts of volunteers make it up onto the roof via air, wind? birdpoop? some different willows at least one poplar/ Populus some thistle (Sonchus) several Buddleja davidii (all flowering even though just ankle- to knee high) and the most astonishing were some reeds, or Typha, when I pointed out some young Typha-seedlings the gardeners were like: whatever and very doubtfull after finding a mature specimen and getting it out of the "soil" or rather substrate with the impressing rhizoms still attached they went quiet and the boss took it to show the gardeners who do the weeding in this roof garden. so, with some luck I post some more pics in September have a nice day, Lin
