I finally got back to my neighbors this morning and didn't have very much luck. If it was every page that opened wide it might be easier to figure out. But it is pages she usually opens and until the last month has been fine. I checked everything that has been mentioned and they all seem ok. I had even sent her a picture the size I normally send to here and that part of the email she had to scroll to see the whole picture. She didn't have this problem before. I checked her AVG for any sign of virus's and trojans and everything came up clean. She is 80 years old so she gets upset when things change and I can understand that!! I appreciate everyones help. The most common reason for this is a bad wall control or the wiring to it. I hope you changed both of these items when you installed the new opener. Staples can cut through the insulation of the wiring and cause a problem. At one time there was some talk of the electric companies use of a radio to read meters causing problems with openers. Haven't heard anything lately so this may have just been a rumor.

I think what woodinvirginia was talking about is an awning window. Andersen makes them and they open about 6" at the bottom. The opening hardware for both the Andersen casements and the awning windows are at the bottom. Go to the Eagle website and compare the information. Should be easy to see if this guy installed an awning window incorrectly. Ron

Ann, I am not sure what you are describing. French doors have both doors that open. I wonder if you have a Patio door with a stationary glass light next to it. Would you be able to take a picture? I am not sure there is a way to convert something like that to a French door. Actually, there is a way but it would be cheaper to buy a french door and get installed. There would be a lot of components needed to be make a stationary glass panel a moveable door. Do you know what brand your current door is? Does your current door open to the outside or does the door swing into the house?
