So wonder how the "forums" people come up with prices. I live in the L.A. area & every shop I've ever been in has price guides behind the counters. Nobody is so smart that they know what every item is worth. But on the other hand it is a ball park figure & varies by area you live in & wealth of people in area. You take a depressed area with 3 houses per block for sale, don't expect to get much for your red glass collection. Same area 10 yrs ago you could have sold it for small fortune. But you know whether it is worth keeping around by seeing a price guide or checking it out on Internet. A little spice cabinet is something I passed up number of times, then I found out some are very valuable so now I will at least look at them. Also more fun to read about antiques than to waste time watching junk on TV. There are a few dealers that I've run into that didn't seem to know what anything was worth,they overpriced or under priced, probably according to how well they liked the item. 1 lady had the worst quilts, poor stitching, faded, stained but apparently her prized possessions as all were priced way over $100. She had a very junky store & I loved to go there as she under-priced a lot of neat things. All of those shops have gone now ,because of recession, old age of owners, health problems, raised rent,etc. Internet has taken it's toll on many shops along East Coast too, I understand. I got my Breville today! Very prompt shipping, especially with Labour Day yesterday!! I was in the midst of processing my cucumbers, onions and peppers when I got the delivery. I tried to buy cucumbers on Sat and not a cuke was to be found in 3 stores. Grrrrrr. They were advertised in the flyer, so I went today hoping that a shipment came in. There they were. I wanted to get my relish started, and not knowing for sure that I would get my "new kitchen toy" I borrowed my old processor from a friend and went to work. Not to worry, I'll be trying the Breville out soon and give a report. Everything feels quite nice and sturdy and well made.

Amy, That was a great resolution! I guess my four kids never lost anything special that I can remember, so I never had to face that dilemma, thank goodness. It was kind of cute and funny that my DS, the youngest, and only boy, was extremely attached to several dolls when he was little. The first was a hand puppet he called baby, made with a nylon stocking face that resembled Cabbage Patch dolls. The next was a big doll one of the DD's friends bought him. The doll looked just like Chuckie from the horror movies, but DS loved his Buddy-eye. The next was one of those anatomically correct newborn baby boy dolls (his sisters each got a newborn girl, even though the older 2 were 15 and older, they wanted one). He named his newborn Wilbur and used to take him to school to play with on the playground. The other boys would tease him, but he told them if little girls could bring dolls to play with to learn to be better mommies, he could bring his to learn to be a better daddy. Even at that tender age, he knew his dad was not a good parent. His dad's family went totally beserk and ballistic. By allowing the dolls, I was turning my little boy into a "fag"! How horrible of a mother! DS is now 22, and definitely not a fag. And if he was, I would learn to embrace that, too. He's my son most importantly.

Hi. Pin end or plain end? Don't forgot to check that when you buy them to save yourself some trouble! If you are in the States and want to buy these from Stockade in Canada your dollar will go a whole bunch further. I believe Winfield in the States also carries them. I have used them and don't like them as they wear out to fast, so I bought myself a contour sander. Oscillating sanders are excellent also, but a bit more expensive.
