For sure not Singer, while the older treadles didn't have the S, they were also the "Coffin top" type. For age, what does the machine opening look like? that may also give a clue to the manufacturer of the machine that went i, though many used the same cabinet manufacturer (though not Singer). I'd also say the age is in that range - Before that they didn't use the flip type opening that this has. I've been doing a lot of research on SInger treadles, and I've seen a lot of other treadle cabinets online and in person, but not one like that. The ornate sides that hold the drawers are very unique, and it's also got a very plain treadle base. Try Wheeler and Wilson - that looks the closest - does yours have metal support right up under the cabinet to hold the legs together?

pretty front panel! Looks on the left as though there is part of a rail left from a set of drawers? alos on the right? No machine and the fact that it has been stripped and is incomplete give it mostly decorative value and the value of the scrap metal. Somebody might pay for it to use as a project or misc. table. my mom had one of these for years on the back porch with all her houseplants on it, for example. I sorry, but probably not worth more than a minimal amount.

Normally, I would have gone to the sewing forum but the last time I was there it was dead. I did stop there this morning and see that there are people there these days. lol Since coming here, I've noticed a lot of people mention they sew, which was a big reason I posted here. I don't want a cheapie table, I want something that looks decent. I found the Arrow cabinets at Sears and am shocked at how much they went up in price. The one I wanted, and had a catalog saved (can't find it after the move) was about $200ish and was similar to this which is now over $500. Looking at the Arrow brand, it will either be that one or the sewing & serger dual. I also looked at Koala - wow on the price.I can't see spending that much on something I'm not sure of how much I'll use. Now, had this been 10 years ago when I made clothes, dolls & comforters, yeah I could see spending the cash but for something I'll do every now and then (I could be wrong it's addictive) I didn't want to spend over $500 but see I'll have to. I ended up on the Arrow site and went to their links. From there, there were places to buy online that had more brands. I liked the Roberts & Horn stuff too but most don't have prices, so it's something I'll have to research. I must have lost a stack of catalogs, can't find my Nancy's notions or Clotilde, so I'll visit both places online. I'm kicking myself for not buying the one I wanted last year.

Donna, It is just awesome that you can actually use something made by your dad for your mom. And then for your DH to 'enhance' it to an additional use as an ironing board is fabulous! So happy for you.
