That's awesome Keepit!

I had a small triumph yesterday too (though not as good as yours)... BM is on a 16 hr shifts stretch, so we'll be having A__ a fair bit this week and next. Anyhow, in a conversation between BF and BM about getting ready for school, BM said "I was worried you'd send him chips and pop for lunches, but then I remembered Ceph's there, and that she takes good care of A__." Later in the conversation, when talking about that BF is on early mornings this week and next, he mentioned that I'm getting A__ ready for school and dropping him off, she said "Make sure you tell her thanks for that."

So I'm happy we're both having good weeks!

Wow! That must have felt really good. Wish I knew what it felt like. BM makes her once a month call from out of state and if I answer she says "I am calling to talk to MY children" and believe me she stresses the MY. And when I call kids and they say "what mom" she gets on the phone with them and badgers them. Have heard one of them on more than one occassion make some comment like "you are my mom too"....

Guess it would be too much for me to be across the country mothering her children without any help from her and get a "thanks" from her....

Yea Ceph,

It was really something. The past week i've been trying to focus on not being reactive and trying not to let the "little things" bother me as much. Pretty much just stay focused on SD and what makes us all happy. It has not been easy, but I think i'm doing pretty good. HAd to come to terms with a lot.

And it was funny b/c I had just mentioned to FDH that she had said something last week that I choose to let go of, and then later that night she said all of the nice stuff!

Doesn't it feel nice, Keepit?? Letting your shoulders and gut relax when she speaks is a rare feeling, but it is so refreshing!!

Watch out though . . . next thing you know you'll be sharing a bottle of wine and a hide a bed at a birthday party! :-)

FYI - for those who are 'keeping score' there haven't been any big blow ups or nastiness since the party. A few minor snags but they were worked out easily. I wouldn't say the rosey BFF glow is still there, but I don't fear the phone ringing anymore. That is an amazing feeling!
