sundial, Thanks for your words. I would like a round dark wood table! ... dd50, thanks a lot for your comment, I liked the idea of it to look "fabulous"!!! ... marty8a, Yes, we have a little bit of an issue with the lighting. There is a fan with no light. the only lights are the ones by the FP. Thanks for your opinion. The sectional is a ROWE and I thought was in a great price. I wanted a Room & Board but it was almost 40% more by the time I pay delivery. .. ideefixe thanks for your comment. I will look into the shade/drapes material/color ... mariposa thank you, I was not too sure about the sofa. I wanted it to have more straight lines but it was difficult to find one without waiting more than 2 months. ... robynpa, I will ask my DH to do the mirror change. thank you!

Whatever you use, make sure it's set well. Reading a tag on some jeans recently, it warned that the dye might rub off onto furnishings (hard to imagine that got through the design process! Think they were Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. At Costcos). Later was reading how someone had noted the dye from their jeans had rubbed off onto their furniture. So, I'd just make sure that whatever paints/dyes you're using isn't going to transfer onto clothing and then over to paint another piece ; )

Thanks for the responses! They looked good to me, but I needed some other opinions. That tea table does look weird, now that I've seen it in a photo. This is what that area looks like with a table: The actual dining room has always been too small for the china and table. I think that the front area will probably go back to being the dining room and the smaller area a study/lounge/whatever (the two matching wing chairs are headed for CL). We don't have a formal lifestyle and I'd like these rooms to be more than just wasted space. Before we got the secretary (from CL) I don't think anyone had ever sat on the sofa. Anyway, I'll get some rugs and matching drapes and then work on the furniture arrangement. The Serapi/Villa combo is lovely, btw!

For everyone that helped me figure out what to do, or was interested...here is the sofa, with the cushions. YAY! And yes, the hanging stained glass artwork (which was a separate thread) has been returned home. <laugh> Now, I will be working on some french chairs I have hanging around. ;)
