I'm assuming orb means "oil rubbed bronze"? If that's the case, then I think it really depends on a number of things....how the room is laid out, what other design elements are in the room, if you have other things to tie them together, etc. For example, I have a chandelier over my kitchen table in a black finish. The pendants over my island are a silvery nickelish finish. It works because they both have the same crystals which kind of ties them together. The kitchen table is in a bay window which has curtain rods in a black finish, black tile around the fireplace in that area, and the kitchen cabinets have nickel hardware, nickel doorknob on pantry door, nickel faucet, etc. Both areas have black stained furniture. I kind of rambled and not sure if I made sense, but the bottom line is that I don't think there is a straight yes or no answer to that question.

I just finished replacing my old outside lights and adding two to the garage which never had them before. My requirement was that they be black. Now some ORB is essentially black while others look brown to me. Brown I didn't want. I chose Rejuvenation barn lights for my garage and Kichler for my side and back yards (3 total). They aren't really visible at the same time. While different, they have some similarities. I got a different Kichler for my front porch, but it has a little hat like the others. I ended up spending more than I'd planned, but I figure outside lights aren't something you replace every day and the extra $ will soon be forgotten. Rejuvenation: Kichler Hattaras Bay Kichler Finn

Thanks all for the input. I was sweating the black and gold and then the added nickel on just the door handle and hinges. Totally throwing me off. Have picked out so much with this house and, of all things, the hinges are the things tripping me up. You all gave the answer I was hoping and needed to hear.
