I am planning to do butcher block on my hutch area, so I am also curious to see these pictures. My BB will also be meeting a laminate countertop.

Erikanh, your hutch area was one of my inspirations...so pretty! I've been wondering how it would look with two different edges, and I can see that it looks good. Thanks for sharing!

Dont have any photos, maybe in a month or so, but we plan to do this on our island. Our counter guy said that we should probably plan to make the butcher block a little taller and possibly wider than the other counter. He said it would be really hard to match it perfectly when coming from two different fabricators. So by making one a little larger scale, it looks like that was the purpose. He also thought that it would help with keeping the seam clean to have one raised up. So thats what we are doing, larger scale on the buther block.

OK, I'm going to try to upload these pics I found of bb next to a counter.

Here's a picture I saved way back when I was considering putting in a section of butcherblock:

We have a fair drop between the two counters, it doesn't bother me, I thought about putting a bead of caulk but so far it hasn't gotten much down there, so I'm going to leave it for now. The marble isn't fastened down.
