Hi LL~~

Would you do me a favor? I have posted in the Kitchen forum under "Help me decide, please" and some are wanting to see my lot and plan....so would you please help me out and post a link there of the ones you did for me here...it was under "Now I can officially join you"...THANKS!

I came over here to send hugs your way (()) after all that nastiness on building a home forum and also to say I feel bad for not saying anything in your defence but I just can't do that confrontational stuff even in virtuality.

Please don't let anyone stop you from posting - you are always helpful and above all kind - something I'm sure a lot of people besides me appreciate.

You're welcome Florantha! Lavender--I forgot to answer your question about our plans. I'm making the final decision on the placement of the new deck door this weekend. I hired our ex-contractor, who does very good work, to do the framing NEXT WEEK!!! I can't believe I actually HIRED someone to START work!!! I've been waiting so many months to get started. I need one more quote on the windows before I order just to check pricing, but couldn't get to that at the end of this week with all the snow and two fussy kids. This weekend I also need to finalize my cab/drawer layout so I can get final quotes by the end of next week. Hurray for forward progress!

Just stopping by for an update... Nancy- So true! We're kind of falling in between, but finally started the out patient therapy at a better facility. Unfortunately, it's $95 a trip (out of pocket/not covered by insurance) every time he takes the handicap accessible transport van. Well, my husband finally got Medicaid today! That should help with the medical bills not covered by our insurance and the van. He's getting stronger, but wants to come home yesterday! I know that means he's feeling better, but it's probably still another few months before he's home. School is going really well and I got A's and B's in all my classes. I'm signed up for next quarter, which starts April 1. Honestly, our income has taken a huge hit, but I refuse to worry about that and just keep taking it one day at a time. School loans have helped and if he gets disability that will really help! We still have our home based business, which will be getting a little rehab of its own, when my husband gets home. Hopefully, we can build that back up in about six months and be back on our feet, again. No pun intended :) I'm still planning our home remodel, but it's going to be put on hold for a bit. More time to plan! Seriously, I'm so glad we didn't start anything...all I would have needed is a partially torn apart house, on top of everything else. So...bottom line, things are going well, my husband is doing great with his therapy and I hope to have life a bit more back to normal, by the early fall. In the meantime, I'm going to play in my garden and have fun at school. The weather is going to be too nice this weekend (in the 50s) to do anything indoors...so I'll be pulling weeds and planning my new garden bed!

Ditto what momo said. I was going to post on that thread, but it had fallen off the first page last I checked and I didn't want to bump it back up.

I enjoy reading your posts and seeing the evolution of your house plans, and the bulk of my inspiration photos come from your posts. You are very kind and supportive of others, so I hope you continue to frequent the forum. I too understand the therapeutic value of working on house plans, and hope you know you can come here for support.

I had to go over there and look. It looked like just a couple and I hope LL can let it roll off her back. From what I saw there was more supporters than nasties. I'm glad this board is a safe haven too.

I have no idea what the beginning of this convo was but I assume its about the posting on other boards. There are a couple of boards I stay clear of because I just don't like how they come off. It can be shocking because there are other boards where people are so nice (like this one).

Hi everyone!

Thank you for being so sweet, but the Building a Home forum was no big deal. I just didn't want to bump it up and continue the thread...or I would have said so over there, too.

Work has been really busy the last few weeks, so I haven't been on the forums as much as usual, but I still try to check in from time to time. Things will hopefully calm down a bit, in the next few weeks :)

We have a home based business and some weeks are a lot busier than others! LOL

Normally, I have some down time, during the day...that's when I get to play on GW :)
