It's hard to tell without seeing the full scope from an outside exterior shot. With that said, it's looking like a nice size to me. Are you worried about the appearance from the interior or the exterior? Are you afraid they look too stubby (for lack of a better word) in relation to the rest of the exterior?

Your room is beautiful. Nature themed photographic art is a very good choice to make the room less "sterile". Regarding the framing, IMO, the single vertical frame with 2 photos looks too wide for the space (cramped on the right side). Hanging 2 separate frames vertically looks too narrow for the space a't nd hanging them horizontally side by side is like putting a panorama or a wall that needs more something taller to look right on the wall. Artwork above the buffet is definitely too low, doesn't seem a good match with the room or the other images. The right art and good track lighting on it would make the room. Photographic art is my area of expertise, so my suggestion(s) are: 1. A single vertical frame for the 2 prints that is a few inches narrower; or 2. Consider hanging the 2 frames one above the other but offset - to give more vertical presence as well as more width - that will fill the space better; or 3. Hang these 2 somewhere else and get 1 image about 3x the size of these and frame it to look proportionally right on this wall; or 4.Get 2 more prints and do a grouping of 4 framed prints.

HI -- Nice room but you need some color ..I think .... think about putting the TV on an articulating bracket on the wall into the right corner ...possibly on the wall beside the patio door if the TV will not fit on the right side of the fireplace . Get some lined blackout curtain panels for the patio doors - on a black rod and hang them full height . You can have grommet tops or on rings . Put the sofa on that big empty wall so it faces the patio doos and the TV that's beside . Have matching cabinets / dressers on each side of the fireplace with 2 or 3 shelves above on the left of the fireplace to balance with the TV that is on the right side . Now have the chairs placed backing to the kitchen . This will open up the room and give you better viewing to the TV with no sun glare . With the TV being less of the main feature in the room. Now you can have a pretty round mirror or a painting over the mantel and a family photo wall or Art above the sofa . This will give the room better flow because the sofe was cutting the room in half . Also maybe fatten up those ceiling beams by wrapping them in wood and staining them a medium to dark color ... they could also have some strip LED up- lighting on top of them .

The prices I referenced were based on actual quotes, so they are high, but they aren't high guesses. I quoted this because the question was about "very high quality broadloom" and I would put 100% wool Wilton weave imported from Italy in this category. That doesn't mean that there aren't a bunch of decent quality tufted broadloom options out there for less. I guess you have to define very high quality--which can mean different things to different people, and what a very high price is, which can also mean different things. I think those quotes are expensive but that's what they were. Rugs from RH are hand knotted, but in this size you can also pay $5000-7000 pretty easily too. And there are lots of less pricey options there, too. The thing to do when getting broadloom cut is to optimize what you are getting. If the mill width is 13.5', you might as well size it as close to the mill with by as close to whatever running yard amount works for the room: If you got a 12x16 exactly for example, you would be wasting 1.5 feet along the length and you might have to buy 6 running yards (18 feet) to cut it down to 16. So there would be waste at the end. Some carpets you can by in increments of yards though. But if a 13.5 foot width by slightly under 15 foot length would do the trick, then you would be utilizing everything you bought. The less expensive the carpet the less you have to be concerned about waste, money wise. The binding also adds to the cost. The least expensive option is to use twill tape that matches or blends with the pile, color matched serging is more expensive, and decorative binding more expensive again.
