Cellular blinds are not very heavy and you should be able to use one in in that width. My previous home had them in windows that wide.

I don't know anything about what HD and Lowes is selling but I would be worried about the durability of the hardware on their blinds standing up to daily opening/closing.
I've always used Hunter Douglas with either their Easyride or Ultraglide cords. Never had a problem and I open the blinds daily.

Just bumping this up as I was hoping for more responses to my questions. I also wondered what color would be best to use as a neutral, a creamy color or light taupe. My woodwork leans go a golden wood color but windows are white viny clad. I do not want white, too stark. Thanks.

I had pleated blinds that were 9ft wide in my last bedroom. No problem at all. They were insulated which made them heavier than what you are looking at. They were still up when I sold the house which would make them about 13 yrs old.

I think you will be okay with HD or Lowes. I think Lowes carries Levelor. I would gravitate more to Levelor if possible.

We have a 72" Hunter-Douglas cellular blind on the slider between our DR and the deck. It almost completely covers the woodwork when it's down. I strongly suggest that you go with cordless. I did this to protect my back, but another plus for cordless is that the blind will always open and close smoothly and perfectly. It always hangs just right. If it's a special order and you can wait, it's worth it!

As to color, I matched ours to the dining room walls, which are rather rough old plaster and painted Navajo white. The color matches very well and the blind has a slightly rough texture that looks good against the wall. There are two archways and a door and the slider in our DR, and a lot of furniture, books and art, so I wanted the blinds to simply blend into the background.

I do window coverings and we often go with a continuous cord loop for wider windows. The entire lifting mechanism is set up to handle more weight.
