off topic, but so anxious, trial's in 10 hours

The hearing is 10 hours away & my stomach is in knots. I talked to the prosecutor & we went over questions that the judge will ask me. Do I tell the truth & show my ugly side, do I act nice so not to make Brittani ashamed of me...I'm at a loss? I have blocked this out for so long & I can't do it any longer. It's right there...in 10 hours. I was short of breath & talking 100 mph just talking to the prosector. It's over a speaker phone & a plea deal. The first thing the judge will ask me is if I am satisfied with the plea deal. The only thing I can think of is lethal injection would satisfy me at this point. Do I really give my opinion? I know it's late, but I'll be up all night. Thanx

Maybe a better way to say it is that nothing a judge can do will bring back Brittani, so you can have no satisfaction. The best you can ask for is that he be incapable of ever taking another life and putting another family through what you have been through, and will continue to go through.

Brittani will not be ashamed of you. How could she be anything but proud of her mom, her champion and her voice? She is counting on you to say all that she can not - I think the only way she could be dissapointed is if you kept quiet.

Please let us know how it goes when you are able. Let Brittani be your strength.

Ok y'all! So the Photography presentation last Firday night went fine. I had fun doing it. I would say there were only about a dozen ladies there but all seemed to enjoy themselves. After I did my presentation I scrolled through all my 214 (yes, I know--a Lot of photos) and talked just about every one! I'm long winded. BUT, I was in my MOMENT. As I went though I shared with them about the rocks I name. There were a couple that I hadn't officially named and they helped me with another name for one....Penguin Rock. To me it looks like a podium-they showed me a penguin. :-) I think they had fun thinking about it. IT was kind of like we were all laying on the grass looking up to the sky to see what formations the clouds were making! My whole intent was to get people to see the greater beauty and peace in nature all around us--even the small things! It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. I knew I did that for at least two of the ladies there. OK, so the Fair Photos. I went last Sunday there to the Fair. Out of the 9 I entered 1 won 3rd place. The one that won was my poppy photo. It was interesting as I viewed all the photos. A lot were good especially the ones that won. But then sometimes I couldn't figure out what the judges were looking for. I know they want a photo to "pop" and the poppies did in color. They have volunteers there who watch the building and make sure the photos are monitored. I spoke with one of the gals there and it just happened to be Kay Hendrickson, one of our local photographer/artists. She is known for her poppy photos. I think she said they received about 1800 photos this year. So, anyways, just want to say Thank You to all for your encouragement and specific comments. I would love to share photos of my two beautiful girls. Sasha was a stray who found me 8 years ago this month, in fact. I has just bought my home and had only been in it for a about a week or so. I was making my morning coffee in the kitchen, looked out the window and saw this tiny, 3-4 month old kitty curled up in some over-grown grass. She was in awful shape. You could see every bone in her body (hips, back, etc) and it appeared that someone had burned her head with cigarrettes. She had 2-3 round burn-holes on her head. I didn't want cat #3 and tried hard to find a proper home for her. But, I ended up so very attached to her and her sweet personality I couldn't stand to part with her. She was absolutely the most sweetest cat - always gave tons of kisses. The below picture captures her little personality quite well. Here's another one of my favorite pictures of Sasha: Below is of Sabrina, The Super Model. She was sleek, 100% jet black and exotic looking. She had a very strong will and personality. She despised everyone except for me- whom she adored. She went through alot healthwise - hyperthyroid, kidney disease and cardio-myopathy. Even my vet said she's never seen a cat with such an incredible will to survive. I think Sabrina hung on for me, knowing how devastated I would be when she passed. She is the only cat I actually picked out from the SPCA. They rest have all come into my life on their own. Actually, Sabrina picked me as well. I had spent over an hour looking at all kinds of cats and decided to 'think it over' and return the next day. Something made me turn around as I was almost to the exit. I looked and saw a cage of kittens that I had some how missed. All the kittens were asleep in a pile -- except for one. She was sitting straight up and staring intently at me and pressed against the cage. I "knew" she was the one. She was only 6 weeks old (they no longer adopt them out that young anymore, thank goodness...) and absolutely adorable. She grew up to be my most devoted companion and The Queen of the house. I sure do miss them both....

Take a picture and post it. I don't feel that it is off topic. You are making a daylily bed. That is very much on topic. Its not just the looks of the flowers that we discuss here but everything to do with the daylily garden (and then some) I am waiting awhile on my bed that I made by the newspaper method and then I plan to move some daylilies and put a row of daylilies running along the front edge at least in part of it. Not so great if you have to plant tomorrow but if you can plan ahead like your doing, this is deffinately the way to go.

I didnt get back here last nite! Question first! Ian, is the 1/4 tsp. of yeast really correct, or is that a typo? That sure doesnt seem like much yeast for that much flour, or is that because its used in a starter? Ive never used a starter before! And do you know if it makes any difference to use regular or rapid rise yeast? I happen to have both around here right now. Jennifer, I really cant help with the high altitude question either! When I bake, which really isnt all that often, sometimes I "adjust" the recipe for high altitude and sometimes I dontand Ive really never been able to tell much difference, so mostly I dont anymore! Ive also noticed that when you use a mix, they usually call for a little bit more water and a little bit more flour, and that just doesnt make ANY sense at all to me. A little more of one or the other maybe, but BOTH! Whats up with that! I did find the site below with some good basic high altitude cooking info that might help you since youre so much higher than us "low landers!" Since Ians rolls are made with such a "wet" dough, I think Id try it just the way it is, making sure, as Ian says, that it seems wet enough. Youre 3000' higher, but Im gonna try it just like it is the first time. Happy baking, Skybird

I agree with justnotmartha. Bringing out all the grief again and all the anger will hurt, but this is the time it needs to come out the most. If it will protect another person it will be worth it. Good luck to you. I visited your daughter's online memorial and it hurt my heart. I will be praying for your family tonght.

It's done. I'm glad that part is over. Thank you all very much for your kind words of support. I thought I'd go crazy last night. I saw news coverage of the plea on NBC. I googled Brittani's name & they already have news on the case. I saw what he looked like & he is disgusting. Thank you all again. I was so full of anxiety & that's relieved some now. Thank you all again.

I posted on here earlier today and for some reason it didn't post. I don't know what happened to it.

No one should ever have to go through something like this. I'm glad this part is over for you and you are definitely stronger than you think.

I just did a google news search and saw an article about what you had to say today. It sounds like you said exactly what needed to be said, for Brittani. I really hope what you said hit him very hard. If it didn't, he has no soul.

I imagine you didn't sleep much last night. As Dotz said, now is the time to get some rest and please take care of yourself.
