Budster, Just make sure Santa buys the strong super-long quilter's pins. I just bent 4 (don't think they were that strong)on the comforter I am making. The length is great though, as they don't pop out when you go to move the item from the table to the sewing machine. bggs

I hope Santa brings me a nice sewing cabinet. Sears has one that would be perfect. I showed Santa's helper (DH) the picture and suggested that if Santa gives me that, our cats could order the insert to go with my machine.

a dozen disappearing ink pens for marking fabric...i love them!! prob is that the pens disappear into my black hole of a home! need one and can't find one right now, as a matter of fact. lol

The glow in the dark pins that Hancock's has for $12.00, yes, 12.00 for straight pins! But I could drop them, turn the lights out and find them before I step on them!

First time I've heard of glow in the dark pins, would be neat to have some and would like more Fast Turn turning tubes in the sizes that I don't already have.

A box of golf tee's. I saw the other day in JoAnns where they had golf tee's with a small stuffed heart hot glued on top. They looked simple enough to make. Even if you didn't hot glue any decoration on the top you can just use the plain golf tee.

You use them for holding the bobbin to the spool of thread. Stick the tee down thru the hole in the bobbin then into the hole in the top of the spool. Really neat idea!

I also want Kathi's elf when she's finished with him.
Elizabeth, those sound neat. The bobbins I use most don't have the hole in the center, but I could use some of those with my other machines.

I think I need some of those glow in the dark pins too. They would be perfect. My boys are always getting into my pins and dropping them on the floor. The golf tees are cool too. Maybe I should raid DH's golf bag and see what I find.

But what I really want is just a thread rack. I have asked my DH for one 3 or 4 times. I told him were to buy it and how much it would be. Today he asked me again what I wanted for Christmas. I could have killed him. I said a whole bolt of WOW fabric for quilting, just to see what he would say. He said what's that, where do I find it and how much would it cost? I give up. I'll just be happy if I don't get another pair of slippers.

I've found saying "give me a gift certificate for Joann's Hancock's etc", works wonderful. When he realized I was using them after the holidays and buying more he was a little disheartened! LOL.

You can give hubby a printed wish list - in BIG letters if necessary. Some people have difficulty remembering highly technical terms like thread rack.

Mine also doesn't get it every time I ohh and ahh over the kitchen aid mixers. His response is "you don't have any where to put it". He doesn't realize I'd make room, where there's a will there's a way, LOL.

You could always find something in the hardware or fishing stores that he might go to often. While he's browsing around he might remember the things that you ask for. While in a N.H.Northern store with DH I found a stackable container with pull out plastic boxes, kinda like the ones used for fishing tackle. It's the perfect size for thread, each insert holds about 35 spools and there are 4 inserts and they are clear so you can see what color is inside. When I needed another one I just waited until I new he was going there and ask him to get me one.
They tend to remember things better when in their own comfort zone!

I want one of those attachments that sew decorative stitches in a circle. Has anyone ever used one? I'm curious if they are as nifty as they appear to be. I'm definitely not asking DH for an embroidery design CD again, b/c last time he got a Bernina one, not a multi-format one. Long story short, I exchanged it through the software manufacturer (I prefer multi-format ones b/c I can save them on my computer; can't always save the Bernina ones that are read by the sewing machine's CD reader), but they charged an additional $20 plus shipping. Ended up being a VERY expensive CD! Never again. In all fairness to DH, tho, I had forgotten to tell him about the multi-format issue so it wasn't his fault.

keepeminstitches - I made a 'cicle' sewing attachnment by taping an old fashion thumb tack to the left of my needle. I pressed the center of my piece over the tack. The dog feet pull the fabric and because of the tack the fabric rotates. I use an old spool over the tack to gently press down without poking myself. If I did a lot of circles I'd go high tech but I haven't - yet.

I have one I found a few years ago at a local thrift shop...it is for a T&S singer and I took the chance spending a quarter and it fits my T&S...and it works wonderfully! I've just played around with it and the fancy stiches my machine does but it works and there are lots of ways you could get creative with one. I know there are some inexpensive generic ones on the market and they work the same as my singer one (I just lucked in and found one for one of my machines)..they are easy to use. Hope Santa is listening to you!

Hi, I saw a new tool the other day and can not remember what it was called and thought someone here might know. It was red and you slipped your bobbin case on it then it helped you put the case in the machine, it would also connect so you could remove the bobbin case. I is good for people that have problems with their hands. Thanks for any help. Penny
