There is a distinction between 100 percent organic, organic, and made with organic ingredients. (See USDA organic program) Products labeled organic are only required to be 95% organic. Someone purchasing a product labeled organic probably doesn't know that it is not 100% organic. Take what you want from that, but the government doesn't think organic is 100%. But, that's why we have open forums so we can help eachother find information. I'm rambling, but anyway, I realize your frustration is more aimed towards your discussion with kubotabx2200 (and I see it's not the first time), but please be carefull with your generalization and steriotyping of all OGers. Espoma does have some good organic products. I'm not trying to be hard on them or anyone else. But, they do not claim that garden tone/plant tone is an organic product. I'm done rambling now :)

I have very sensitive skin but have never heard of anyone that couldn't wear a face lotion. Can you not find an unscented, sensitive skin face lotion with sun proctection in it? I'm guessing maybe you just don't like the feel of lotions on your face??? I used to be like that and thought they clogged my pores, etc... but you really just need to shop around. If that is the case with you, there are many face lotions that don't feel lotiony and heavy but rather feel kind of light and almost go on more like water. Is that you problem? Of course I wouldn't put regular sunscreen on your face.. but most face lotions contain sunscreen. In fact, it's hard ot find a face lotion without some in it nowadays. And, many brands don't leave your face feeling greasy. There are some make-ups (mineral powders, foundations, etc) that provide sun protection too, but those will usually cause an adverse reaction on sensitive skin far more quicker than a face lotion would. I'm not personally convinced that you need anything over 15 or 30 sun protection on your face.... Unless you're outside all day or something. I think some of the higher protections are just too thick and don't really do much more than the lower ones. You may want to do some research on that yourself. You do need to make sure that UVA and UVB are both included in the sunscreen, and from what I understand, there are some newer products that contain coverage for even more sun protection...not a higher number but more along the lines of coverage from a different spectrum of the sun. If you are highly sensitive to the sun or prone to skin cancer and such, you may want to do some more research on that too. There's a lot out there.. some of it priced quite reasonably.

Angel cakes don't use any yolks. SPONGE CAKE 6 eggs 1 TBL lemon juice 1 tsp grated lemon rind (no white part, only the yellow) 1 cup sifted cake flour Pinch of salt 1 cup sugar Preheat oven to 325°. Lightly grease & flour the bottom, not the sides of a 10" tube pan. Break the eggs into the large bowl of a mixer, add the lemon juice & grated rind & beat the mixture at highest speed until soft peaks form, 12-16 minutes. while the eggs are being beaten, sift together the flour & salt onto a piece of waxed paper. Continue beating the eggs at highest speed (after soft peaks form) & pour the sugar in a fine stream over them, taking 2 1/2 to 3 minutes to add all the sugar. Change to lowest speed & sift the flour & salt over the surface of the mixture as the bowl turns, taking 2 1/2 to 3 minutes to add all the flour. Scrape the sides of the bowl & beat at lowest speed 1/2 minutes. Pour the batter into the prepared pan & bake 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Invert the cake pan & set it on a rack to cool. Prop it up if necessary so that the air can circulate between the cake & countertop. Let the cake cool at room temperature before removing it from the pan.~~from Craig Claiborne

Ruthieg...I can't answer for Michelle...but I can tell you that I, personally, wasted large sums of money trying every lotion/cream/salve that was recommended by a pharmacist and/or dermatologist. The insidious thing about eczema and psoriasis is that not everything works for everybody and recommendations from real live sufferers are my best sources for tried and true products so I return the informational kindness forward when I'm able. This is a wonderfully helpful forum for those in need of actual experience info and I, for one, hope it continues to be for those in need. Anne
