The best thing to do is to report the condition to the apartment manager and let them handle it.

We used to do food swaps. I never participated though, I'm pretty busy. The gift package was to thank John for helping me, (once again!) sort out my food processor that broke, again! Now I'm back in business, and the new part arrived just in time for a holiday potluck! Then I got sick so my holidays weren't very productive. Strep throat (maybe) but for sure sinus heck! Not covid, I tested three times. I tried to go with a bit of a low carb, charcuterie theme. I didn't do much canning this year, one small batch of salsa that was gone, small batch of pickles, and strawberry jam. I also tried to go with some unique MI stuff, but MI and WA are neck and neck in competition for agricultural dominance in a lot of crops! Especially in the fruit realm, as we have the Inland Seas to moderate our coastal weather creating a fruit belt. One realm where we dominate is dry beans! I sent John as jar of locally grown and processed "Randall Beans." They are sealed in glass jars, and are not widely available but they are great, the glass jars avoid giving the beans a tinny taste that can come from cans. Another MI company that sells beans is Eden Foods out of Clinton but I couldn't find any of their cans, the supply around here is spotty. I was really worried about sending the glass jars though, but that's what you get with home canned stuff. I sent a jar of home made pickles, MI is also number one in pickle cucumbers. I owe my existence to this, as my maternal grandfather met my grandmother as a result of him being a pickle buyer for a Heinz cannery and my great grandfather was a pickle farmer with eight daughters! I felt bad that all the home made salsa was gone, so I got some of the cherry salsa. Yes, I guess kind of like some of the other fruit salsas like peach or mango. I've never had it. I thought it might be good with meats . . . Also some beer mustard, MI being a watery state we have a lot of breweries. The crackers were from Win Schulers, a pretty nice restaurant nearby, although it is past its heyday. So named after its founder. It was circling the drain before the pandemic, but I hear they have new owners now, so time will tell. The setting is nice for sure. They used to sell a famous "Bar Cheeze" spread which came in a small ceramic crock and was made with cheddar and horseradish, found its way on many an appetizer tray back in the 60s and 70s you could get it in the stores. Now they only sell it at the restaurant and I don't know if the new owners are even going to keep up with the tradition. The crackers are supposed to evoke that taste. I hope nothing broke. I couldn't justify spending more on the postage than the contents cost to pay for the special handling treatment.

Thanks, wdcruise. I saw that video too. The model number (most visible at 4:16) is different and the underside of our washer is different too, so the block in the video doesn't match. I pulled ours out again and tipped it and took a photo, (front of washer is on the right of the photo). The hole is where this foam-and-plastic thing was, but not clipped in, just sitting on the floor extending into the hole, and I can't figure out a way to clip it flush with the bottom either with or without the foam block I'm stumped. Why would there be a permanent part made out of foam that's wearing away? I've adjusted the feet lots of times and it always feels very solid but then jiggles it's way forward when spinning sometimes.

You will be just fine with the classic series from SZ. And with all of the mechanicals for the classic series up top, you will have easier access to the shelving inside. Another very important consideration that I have not really heard mentioned is that with the designer series, the cost of labour and materials to fully integrate those is also extraordinary. The labour costs alone are considerable. Given that you are trying to manage your budget with the numbers you gave, you will get more value for your dollar in going with the classic series. I would skip panelling the classic 42 inch model and stick with the stainless steel finish. The money you save from not panelling your appliances will come back to you as available dollars to spend somewhere else the renovation.. Even the best managed budgets can often “grow“ a bit 🙄.
