Hi Ginny, I peeked at Jim's site, and in looking over there I believe you have a tc, not a piece of OS (Jim states it very clearly if its OS). Tc's aren't bad, I have mostly tc propagated hostas. But in some instances the tc process, for some reason (note: I'm not an expert here, you can search the FAQ's for more details) don't propagate the genetic traits of the plant exaclty...one would think they would, but they don't always. There are some, and 'Dorothy Benedict' comes to mind, that don't produce the same plant when in tc. That's why DB is super expensive, because all plants on the market are divisions that have originated from that one plant. I bought 'Ghost Spirit', it is a dud...looks more like it should be named 'Ying and Yang', the leaves are half white and half green...there's no misting as there should be. And I know that a whole bunch of tc's from that one aren't true to form either. But I love it anyway. So, the short of it is you have 'Tom Schmid', but it may not be true to the original plant as mentioned by jerry_br. And if anyone would know, it would be Tom Shcmid. Donna

Cherry Garcia Ice Cream Source: Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream & Dessert Book. 1/4 c shaved plain chocolate (recommended Hershey's Special Dark candy bars) 1/4 c fresh Bing Cherries, halved & pitted 2 large eggs 3/4 c sugar 2 c heavy cream 1 c milk Place shaved chocolate flakes and cherries in separate bowls. Cover and refrigerate. Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes. Whisk in the sugar, a little at a time, then continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute more. Pour in the cream and milk and whisk to blend. Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer's directions. After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 minutes before it is done), add the chocolate and the cherries, continue freezing until ice cream is ready. Makes grateful 1 quart. Linda
